$600 upgrade.

So my computer is starting to get outdated and I'd like to upgrade it.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.

EVGA GTX 460 768mb SC, HT Omega Striker, Mouse/keyboard, DVD drive.
6) Will you be overclocking?
Minimal overclocking (3.8ghz)
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
A 24'' would be nice, but I'd be fine with a 22'', as long as it support 1920x1080
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
In a few weeks.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
SLI support would be nice, nothing else really come to mind.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

So is $600 too low for something like that (with an i5 2500 if possible)?

Unfortunately $600 CAD is not enough for a Core i5 2500K + a monitor with a res of 1920x1080 + the rest of those parts without skimping heavily on the quality and performance of the rest of those parts.

If you want an Core i5 2500K build, you're gonna have to extend your budget by about $125 CAD. Otherwise, you're looking an AMD build here.
