60 GB is just......missing?

OK, i upgrade to a ....LEGAL.... copy of 7. I select view all hidden files, and view all OS files.

I come up with a total C drive size of 85.4GB..i have a 500 gb HDD with a effective 453gb....SOO. 453-85 = 368 GB...SO i SHOULD have 368GB of free space right? well the c drive says i only have 305 free...

Im pretty sure this has something to do with a windowsimagebackup file.. but i can not find ANY backup images at all. i have also done clean disk and cleaned the system restore and shadow copies...

any ideas on where my 60GB is at? and how i can get it back?

never mind!!! :))))

i closed and reopened "my computer" and the correct 368 was showing. it was the "system restore and shadow copies"


now how can i turn that crap off?
