5870 Problem

So my radeon 5870 works in all possible ways except one of the DVI ports is completely dead. If I plug it into different monitors different cables etc no signal. Eyefinity works fine using the other dvi,hdmi, and display port plugs. My question is will this bad port eventually kill the card or will it be fine for my purposes as it does work in everything i need it too including eyefinity? I figure I could at least wait until there is more stock of the cards before sending it off for RMA?

have you tried using that DVI as the only output? You can't use both of the DVI and the HDMI at the same time as I understand it, so if you're trying to use it with the other ports already outputting a signal that might be the cause?

yep, among the physical DVI, DVI, HDMI outputs, there is only capacity for 2, so you can only run 2 of the 3 outputs at the same time.

Hence, 3 monitor Eyefinity's need for the DP port.

The DVI port doesn't work even if it is used alone with no other ports plugged in. I can't get a signal on it at all even in post on 2 different comps. The other 3 ports work fine alone and all together.
