9:02 PM - hossdaddy: even when just in windows?
9:02 PM - The Green Meanie: yeah

He has a phenom II quad core with 4 gigs g.skill, antec 620w psu, sapphire radeon 5850, acer p235H, Win7 64-bit. He did a win7 update today, hoping it would clear up the issue but to no avail.

Any thoughts guys?

TIA!

I hoped it wasnt that, :( Its it a decent case, CM690 I think or maybe the antec 300 Illusion. So over heating. hmm I will tell him to contact sapphire tech support. Unless anyone else has something he can try himself?

My Alienware m11x's gt335m (nvidia) randomly started artifacting on me today. I don't believe there is any use in troubleshooting it, outside of verifying it's the card and not the monitor / dvi cable.

I was on the phone with Dell for 55 minutes and they're sending me a new video card and a new hard drive (separate issue). Unfortunately they just sent me an email telling me they sent the parts to the wrong state, about 50 miles away... even after I confirmed with durka durka (i keeeed) my address two separate times during the phone call, including when he placed the order. *RAAAAAAAGE*

artifacting often means overheating but unfortunately also implies permanent hardware damage...i'd try to look into your warranty situation and possibly getting it swapped out.
