5850 CF Problem

I recently added a 2nd 5850 to my PC.

Here are the results of my Crossfire 3DMarkVantage (options on high)

One thing which I find odd is the clock speed (same thing in the non-cf'd results)

Anyway-- 3DMarkVantage obviously recognizes the 2nd card (as does CCC, and GPU-Z) but the score is lower when CF is enabled. The only way I can tell if crossfire is enabled is if I check CCC.

i7920@3.6ghz
6gb ram
2x XFX 5850 (stock speeds)
seasonic x750 psu
windows 7 64bit
catalyst 11.2

My question is: How do I get my CF setup to work correctly?
 
have you tested both cards? tried moving the display from the primary to secondary and running vantage on that card with crossfire disabled. see if you get the same results. at least then it will tell you if its one of the cards or something else.
 
I did these steps and it seemed to fix the problem.
1. disable crossfire
2. change monitor from 1st card to 2nd card
3. enable crossfire
Not sure why the 2nd card has to be the primary card in order for it to function correctly, but as long as it works, I'm ok with it.
(1st card is in the 1st PCI-e slot)
