"NVIDIA has put out the GeForce 581.42 WHQL Game Ready drivers bringing optimizations for Battlefield 6 and FBC: Firebreak. The update also adds laptop controls support for Project G-Assist. The drivers fix several gaming bugs across different titles. Battlefield 2042 users saw more GPU crashes when calling CDXGISwapChain::present(), while Forza Horizon 4 had light flickering issues on RTX 50 series cards. Planet Coaster 2 players dealt with crashes after previous driver updates. The release also tackles FPS drops when using Smooth Motion with RivaTuner FPS cap and fixes stuttering in games built with the GODOT engine.

On the general bug front, NVIDIA fixed crashes in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro that happened when Smooth Motion was turned on globally. Some system setups that froze during hardware encoding exports in Adobe Premiere Pro should now work better. The drivers also fix a problem where Video Noise Reduction made chroma appear grayscale."

The last two driver updates and this new one have been solid for me, but with one that came before them, I was having the occasional gpu driver CTDs and kernel BSODs. Have not had these issues ever since.

Last couple of srover releases have been rock solid for me and this one installed without issues again.

I have to echo what others have said and repeat that OPs system is either hosed, or OP is.

other than the unrecoverable black screen after driver installation gaming and performance is solid

Installed them using clean install method, no problems, Borderlands 4 ran just fine.

I'll have to retract my previous statement - I'm now getting RED flickers at desktop with my 5090 box. They started the second or third day of having these installed, and it replaces the white flashes that I used to have. Nvidia drivers really are dog shit these days.

The only issue I've had since going to the 50 series is Control is still broken. Remedy said they worked with Nvidia on a driver from a few months ago to fix the issues but it absolutely did not. I can play for 30 minutes and no crashes and then the next time I play it completely freezes up the whole computer within a minute or two. They have been aware of the issue for nine months and still can't fix it.

Other than that, I've never had an artifact or even so much as a black screen and from what I recall that was also true on any of the numerous 40 and 30 series cards I have used over the years.
