I bought one, its under my monitor. Newegg messed up my order and sent me the WRONG MOTHERBOARD

The motherboard I am going with is this one..

I am not going for HUGE overclocking, just a slight OC as this system will be doing server duty.

Well, I got my unit all together, everything seems to be going good thus far.

I've got my cpu running at 34c under load at 3ghz.

what do you use to monitor the temps? I am using coretemp, but i think it lies...

I am using hmonitor.

qwksi1 if you use HWMonitor you can see the (relatively) correct core temp. http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php
It's the ACPI THRM and TMPIN2 reading. The individual core readings are to be ignored.

coretemp is right then. I am idling at 20 and 16 degrees celsius. this is madness!

What is the default multiplier and fsb for this cpu? Mine is 200 x 12 on an Asus M3A78-T.
I thought it was 2.8ghz,Not 2.4ghz.Thanks

Stock Multiplier is 14x. Some boards you have to manually adjust because they dont pick it up right... enjoy.

Anyone else been to 3.4 or beyond yet?

Mmmm....so has anyone been able to find a good review or thread about amd fans pushing this chip to the max? Some reviewers on newegg are hitting 3.4 ~ 3.5 without breaking much a sweat. As always a good mobo and ram is required for stable amd k8 cpu, right?
