4TB drive from Samsung!

You have obviously never ripped a DVD or BD, you need much more than 4 TB for a media server.
I use 24 TB / 14 disks for only half of my movie/series collection, I'd certainly prefer six 4 TB drives rather than quadrupling my risk of mechanical failure.
And I have two 32 GB SD cards already, why would you stop filming every 15 minutes to replace 4 GB cards?

I agree with this guy ^^^. I don't have a colection anywhere near that, but the need for these drives surely exists for Windows Home Server applications. Skipping 3TB all together is what I like to see. Less hard drives seems like less problems to me as well if they do it right.

Samsung should make it 64mb cache, sticking to 32mb cache is just being unnecessarily stingy in this day and age.

My friend used to work at two major HDD makers near boulder, CO as a firmware engineer. I believe he has stated that the amount of cache on the current HDD's is MORE than sufficient to maximize platter performance. The better the algorihm and methods they use, the less need there is for cache. Amazing what he could do with so little...and no reaosn to put down more.

It's silly to think that a difference of 32mb of cache would make a difference in any drive.

Any one know when 30 TB drives comes out ? i heard it woule be in 2010 and now we are en in 2011 ?

3 TB drives are out already, WD and Hitachi have them. Seagate released last September, as an external drive, but die-hards could always take it out of its case.
There will be more manufacturers and more versions eventually.

The big question is how long do we have to wait for these drives to be released?
