4K content

[Schlack808]

I want to test out my new 4K monitor. I do not want to stream the content on Youtube to test. Is there 4K content I can download to test my new toy? Thanks!

When I got my monitor I basically just googled "4K video"' and found some sites that hosted UHD video clips.

[deaedius]

http://timescapes.org/ AMAZING 4k content.

[Megalith]

http://www.hd-trailers.net/

Search for 4K.

both links only seem to have 4k content down-scaled not uncompressed 4k.

So where can I find content that is not down-scaled

[rennyf77]

not sure. looking for real content myself. i've got a copy of elysium on blu ray but that's been down-scaled to 1080p.

Can confirm after extensive analysis that the above site contains voluptuous full 4k content.

If you're referring to "mastered in 4K" it's just a marketing ploy to lure in the tech-illiterates.

Most movies are filmed at 4K or even 8K for IMAX.

There's not going to be any proper 4K 10-bit colour content available for some time yet.

[rennyf77]

its more than a marketing ploy but its certainly not proper 4k. the 'mastered' series do run at a higher video bit rate than their standard 1080p versions; an improvement of about 10 mbps sometimes more. we should be seeing 4k titles and players this time next year.
