okay guys vote which of the fine ati products would be the best choice. My buddy over here is dying to know. I told him the 4870 x2 but lets see what you guys decide

GIGABYTE GV-R489-1GH-B Radeon HD 4890 1GB

Or

VisionTek 900250 Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB

He plans to run on 1920 X1200 Resolution just like I do. He wants to get one or 2 from these brands.

Well, it depends on what power supply he has, if he can afford to lose the slots he'll lose running a crossfire setup, etc.

The performance gains between the 2 4890's and the 4870x2 are going to be negligible at that resolution, so I'm voting X2.

HD 4890 Crossfire would be faster especially in games that don't support Crossfire correctly but HD 4870 X2 would only use one slot and 2 PCI-E power connectors.

I didn't realize this was a hard decision, unless you only have 1 pci-e slot. I'm waiting for the 4890 prices to drop do I can sell of my x2 and get a couple. Better temps too.

I have the PC Power and Cooling 750watt RED ATI edition that can be found for under $100 all over the web.

It has no problem powering my Crossfire 4890's, Blu-ray reader, DVD burner, 15k cheetah and 2 other hard drives.

Research, be smart, save money

I would also like to add, that I've seen several reviewers suggest that single card solutions, such as the X2's are in fact a bit slower than two separate cards. I am not sure why but I've read this many times.
