I have a 285 GTX that I just returned that went bad, was going to use the refund to just grab a 470.

Go for the GTX 470, especially because you can get it for $199: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ction-_-N82E16814121372-_-na-_-na&PID=3891137

I would also wait till xmas sales bro. They had amazing sales for thanksgiving on the 470s as low as 155.00. I expect xmas to bring alot of sales on cards

Thanks for the tip!

Between the two, the 5870 is the faster card. That would be my choice unless you can just get a stupid deal on a 470.

if the 5870 drops as low as ive seen the 470s then I would get the 5870. as of right now with xmas coming up im going to say the 470 will be stupid cheap where the 5870 prolly wont drop at all.
