A friend is getting this:

nVidia GeForce 8200 mobo with onboard graphics - 1GB DX10, Pixel4 Dual VGA & DVI
KINGSTON 4GB DDR2 800Mhz PC6400
AMD AM3 AthlonII Dual Core 245, 2.9Ghz Per Core = 5.8Ghz
AKASA AK-968 SILENT CPU Heatsink/Fan
Maxtor 750GB SATA2, 7200 RPM & 16MB Cache
SONY 24XDVD+/-RW Lightscribe & Dual Layer
Decent PSU (about 650w ought to do)
WINDOWS 7 PRO 64bit

He only does surfing, email, a bit of photoshopping, watching a movie, but no gaming.
The machine will be in use about 16 hrs a day.

My 'advice' to him was that a 650W PSU was not really needed and that a good 450W like the Corsair was ample for his needs, with still spare capacity if he wanted to install more HDD's and a gfx card.

Hope I've done the right thing ? :D

Thanks for the reply...............I've told him to get the HX450W............modular and plenty for his needs even if he stuffed in a couple of medium powered gfx cards in for sli/cf and some more hdd's.
Seems the HX450 is easier to get here in the UK.

Well the 450HX was only released for the European market....

He has ordered the HX450, it may be 'getting on a bit' but I am sure he will be happy with it.
At least he didn't spend more money on a 650W unit.
Thanks for all advice:cool:
