so I have a socket 462 waterblock that attaches with a 4 hole through the motherboard method. I want to use it on my socket 775 motherboard with the same method. That means I will have to make an adaptor plate. I have a friend who can machine me out a nice billet holddown but I need precise dimensions. Does anyone know the exact specs or dimensions per amd or intel for these platforms?
Not measured with a ruler... Exact specs. Ive been searching and trying to find on amd or intels site but I cant seem to

thanks!

around page 60 or so if memory serves, its in there someplace for sure as I did the same thing (mount old maze 3 on LGA755).

I made mine out of cast acrylic .3xx thick and it works like a charm and is crystal clear so you can see thru the hold down and thru the clear top of the waterblock. It machines easily and 600 grit sandpaper make the edges were cuts made smooth and clear.

1 Each 8560K591 Clear Cast Acrylic Sheet .354" Thick, 12" X 12" $8.35

also look at the precision springs if you plan to use the old spring clamp mounting method.

These work great and by looking up the spec on Mcmasters site and knowing the thread pitch of your fasteners ( 32 threads per inch etc.) you can count turns as you tighten and estimate pretty close the amount of clamping force you are applying. Note that Intel requires a mininum of 17, damn cant remember the units, of preload pressure. Those values are in the above spec as well.

4 Each 9573K11 Medium Load Chrome-Silicon Steel Die Spring 3/8" Hole, 3/16" Rod, 1" Length, .039" X .070" Wire $1.23 $4.92
