I use Visual studio 2008, and I was wondering, what do programmers out there like better, 3 24" LCDs or one giant 30"?
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
I've done this with a 20" Dell monitor without issue. It was a 2007WFP that I bought a couple years ago, and it worked great. Some of the newer monitors also will rotate and scale appropriately, but there's a higher price tag for that feature (among others they incorporate) versus the normal Dell monitors.get two, you don't more for programming.
I use VS2008 all day on a 19in LCD and the 17in on my laptop and I never need more space and I always have tons of things open. I would like bigger ones though.
Actually, I would like a widescreen that does portrait mode.
In wondering: how long did you spend using a single, larger monitor before formulating your opinion?Larger panels are really most useful for graphics and artwork like video editing etc. For coding 2x24 (even 2x22) work plenty well.
5 minutes to launch Visual Studio?I'm stuck with a 22" monitor and 3 gigs of ram.... bleh. It takes 5 minutes to start up visual studio 08.
You've done something horribly wrong to your computer. It starts up in under 10 seconds on my home machine (older Athlon X2, 2GB RAM).m stuck with a 22" monitor and 3 gigs of ram.... bleh. It takes 5 minutes to start up visual studio 08.

On topic, I'd love to get a Dell 3007 monitor.![]()
Well.
The PC has so much crap installed ( I have about 20 different USB modem drivers installed, for instance) that it reaaaally bogs down.
I have to run many many things at once and it is always low on RAM, i.e. when I switch to VS08 it can take around 30 seconds for all the tabs to redraw themselves. It's quiet sad. It's always chugging along to HD and HD is overfilled.
