Damn their eyes and thrice on Tuesday! Does their corporate boobery know no bounds?

Here's what I gathered from reading some futuremark forum threads:

either it spells OWNED or the W is a clue for Wednesday and the O for October. Guess we'll wait for the 29th

Maybe its you... after all, what company in there right mind would not announce there software until a few hours before it's release? That woudl be pretty stupid eh?

Me! C'mon, which would you rather do;

-Not tell anyone, and secretly release it.
-Tell everyone a while before, and release it, and make a lot more money.

You gotta admit, earning a lot less is a winner!

I don't find this kind of release bs to be funny at all. I was laughing earlier, but not anymore.

if there f*cking with us...i say we flood the server with DOS attacks cus we can be assholes too :)

if it was hex, then explain why i dont see any a-f?

and also O is not on the hex scale

Oops I goofed... oh well. But yeah now I am confusing myself. :(

Yeah I goofed... and I am drunk... I'll post tomorrow when I am coherent and can actually remember things correctly.

It looks like a mistake.

A mistake is a mistake, everybody makes em. Just let it be.
It will only be released when it is released. Sit back and wait :D

Its not a mistake. They clearly put O in front of the 0's.

Now the question is.... are they using like the greek alphabet.... or something.

Its not Hex as b/c it would be A-F.

Or if its O-W-N-E-D or whatever.

i hope their little release comedy joke bs costs them some money, as in people saying fuck buying the professional version.

hey maybe its just a graphic demo and we should use the hardware we have purchased to actually play games with instead of benchmarks like nerds /

Yeah, people don't like having their chains jerked.....

Its on thing to put a teaser up.... like coming soon. (with out a fake timer)

And if the time was real that would have been fine... let everyone know.

But purposely misleading people with an O instead of a 0
etc... is sure to piss people off. Myself included.

"Fact #9:

The first letter in the countdown is "O". The second is "W".

Cheers,

Nick"

EDIT = bleh...misinterperated post

Well the pictures of it that were posted looked nice but I am not optimistic. 3DMark has gotten worse over the years. I still think 2000 was the nices looking one followed by 2001 and then 2003. Lets hope 2005 isn't crap like the current version is.

History lesson:

There was a

3DMark 99
3DMark 2000
3dMark 2001
3dMark 2003
and now soon to be 3dMark 2005

Easter Eggs:
3dMark 99
Tic-Tac-Toe mini-game:
Run the "Result Browser". Then, click on "Help" and select the "About Result Browser" option. Double click on the empty space below the icon to start a Tic-Tac-Toe mini-game.

On 3Dmark 2001, start a new prodject, then click the 'edit' button in the 'project' area. Type in "Holy Cow!" without quotes. Then press OK, and click on 'Game demo'

3dMark2003 hidden message: http://home.iprimus.com.au/steenberg133/downloads/3dmark03eeggtoryu.jpg

I'm hoping they put a hidden game in there with 1.5Gb of space!

Well I just tried the cow game demo. It was cool two play with for 10 minutes. It probably would have been more fun 3 years ago because these kind of physics were new to games back then. I never tried 3dMark 99, perhaps I should. It might just be better than 2000 if it follows the pattern.

If '05 is going to be another video card-only test, they can keep it as far as I'm concerned. I like being able to fire up '01 and see the effects of any adjustment on any peice of hardware. Not to mention, when a high-end and mid-range CPU with the same video card score nearly the same, something just ain't right.

I don't mean to be pissy or anything but this isnt a CPU test, its a video card test. I'd imagine if you are looking for differences in CPUs get a CPU test.
