3870 Instock at last

They're instock at NCIX, while it doesn't say it's in stock it's likely because they received the shipment later in the day on Friday, if you order it now I'm fairly confident you'll get one on Monday since NCIX shipped mine out last night just before they closed. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=26985&vpn=H387F512&manufacture=HIS

The NCIX warehouse is closed on the weekends and none of the retail stores have access to that stock until Monday, for those of us living in the GVA and wanting to just pick some up rather than e-tail. :)

Oh I see. I did not know NCIX has B&M stores.

Pretty handy...I HATE e-tail shopping, avoid it whenever possible. I'm one of those guys that wants something to hold as soon as he hands over the money.

I really miss having a Fry's around the corner now that I'm living in Vancouver instead of Southern California.

Not doubting you or anything, just curious as to how you got this info?

I know, or rather, am drawing the conclusion, because my HIS Radeon 3870 shipped from NCIX at roughly 6:30 PST last night (Friday) after being on backorder for a week. In addition to this, I checked NCIX's HIS Radeon 3870 listing and it hasn't changed since when it was originally backordered about a week ago. In other words, they have them, they just haven't updated the webpage yet.

They haven't updated the stores with them either...if they do have them, they're all sitting locked up in a warehouse until Monday. :)

Yeah I didn't think people would care much lol but I'm still sorry... I was being immature when I said that.

Does anyone know if an Antec SmartPower 2.0 500w would run an over clocked HD 3870? Would it be too dangerous to over clock it with that psu?

it should be fine, but i'd upgrade to a psu like the corsair hx620 just to be sure

That's enough power. I ran two overclocked X1900XT's and a OC'd 4400+/RD570 on a 535w for over a year, switched to a Q6600/X38 recently and it still hung in there. Same PSU is now powering (and breathing a sigh of relief) two overclocked 3850's.

The 3870 uses less power than an X1900XT, and sounds like you'll just be using one, so you've got plenty of juice.
