Need some advice / opinions from the PSU experts here.
Currently I have a HTPC/gaming rig running a HD4870, Phenom II 710 overclocked to 3.4 at 1.325v, one 7200rpm HDD, 2 sticks of ddr3, and a LG GGC (actual rig in sig). Currently a 520HX is powering this and there will be no more additions made to this rig.
I'm also planning on building a server 08 that will ultimately be running 12 HDD, 4 case fans, possibly 3 (total) PCI/PCI-E x1 cards, Phenom II quad non overclocked, onboard video, and 4 sticks of ddr2. And maybe even some USB powered deviced down the road.
RIght now I have a PCP&C 370w running my whs (which will be dismantled for the server 08 build) and I am contemplating on whether to swap these two PSUs.
My questions are would the 370w be able to power the HTPC/gaming rig safely and stably? Or will the 370w be fine powering up and running the server 08 configuration mentioned above? I understand it could possibly run up to 300w for powering up 12 HDD. The server would only be powered off for hardware maintenance. Otherwise it would stay on 24/7.
I know I'm probably better off buying a new ~500w PSU for the server also, but right now I'd prefer not to spend any more money if possible. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
