Except for the PS3 does not have PGR or Forza 2 which are the two best racing games out right now IMO
Also saying 360 games are mostly on PC is kinda BS....
PGR, Forza, Halo (yes it will come to PC...but takes years, look at Halo 2), Crackdown, Saints Row, are all great games not on the PC.
And while yes FPS are better with a keyboard and mouse IMO (lets not get into that here though), some games are still better played on a console. For example I think the Call of Duty series (have not played 4 yet though) all are much more fun on consoles for the way they play through and such.
My problem is I have yet to see any games that really turn me on to the PS3, about the only one I really want to play is Gran Turismo...but for me Forza has always been better in the past anyways.
I'm still amazed that people can't buy something as minor as a console without seeking advice from the interwebs.Seriously... there are already 5 of these threads going around atm.

I've been debating this for a long time. I'm not really a console guy, but for some reason I want one, prolly to play the games that I can't play on my PC.
The 360 has a boat load of games and some of the ones I really want to play (mass effect, forza 2). Great online play as well.
The PS3 has better graphics IMHO. Wider use (folding, Linux) and some other games I really want to play (Resistance, Ratchet & Clank).
I cannot for the life of me decide, the price is really to close to say PS3 is more expensive, $50 more for the 40gb version. Not worth a argument.
PS3 seems to be buggy with some games, but the 360 has the RROD.
So really, help me decide here. Then again, maybe I should say the hell with it and stick with just my PC.
It really depends. IMO, if you are looking for a High-Def media player, then the PS3 would definitely be the best choice. If you are looking for just gaming, I would honestly go Xbox 360 currently. Although, the PS3 library is increasing, other than a few games like Metal Gear Solid, R&C, Gran Turismo, etc, it is limited. Most games are just ports from the 360 or PC versions anyways.
I've played COD4 on PS3 and PC and there is no comparision, PC wins hands down. Controllers in FPS games are like sex with condoms. Sure it still feels good, but it feels so much better without.
Let's not forget Haze, Unreal Tournament 3 (KB+M), Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Resistance, Motorstorm, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Folklore, The Eye of Judgement, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, God of War 3.... the list goes on and on.
And yeah, those are all exclusives minus UT3. Not to mention the many awesome multiplatform games coming out. I personally think the PS3 is going to rock the hell out of next year.
Thanks for the sig.
the latest xbox update added divx and xvid support!!!!I've made up my mind, PS3 and pr0n FTW!
lol...that is a pretty funny statement, and I agree with it.
As for which system, find out which genre you like and then look at exclusives that are our right now and which ones are confirmed to be coming out soon. Buy whichever one has more. I don't really think you can go wrong with either system right now. The one x-factor is that for the moment, XBL is significantly better and easier to use for multiplayer games. WE'll see what happens with Home, but the PSN can't touch XBL for ease of use in creating/joining games.

I don't have either but I find the xbox 360 controller to be a lot more comfortable. Just a thought from an unbiased pc user. Oh wait, I use Microsoft Vista.J/K.
Agreed, but only for games that use the left analog stick. The 360 controller is totally useless for anything that used the D-pad. Vice versa for the PS3 pad.

Uncharted and Ninja Gaiden Sigma may be worth renting, but not owning.
Of those, the only one I would buy is God of War 3. Uncharted and Ninja Gaiden Sigma may be worth renting, but not owning. UT3 sucks, played it on PC at a friends yesterday. Killzone was just a crappy copy of Halo, which I thought was okay, but nothing new or great.

Yea... and if those games were that good you'd hear more about them... Obviously they are not because all I hear about is games like Halo 3 and Gears of War... oh and COD4 but thats both platforms. Honestly I dont hear anyone saying "you must play this game, and its PS3 exclusive". Not to say their games are bad, because I havn't played most of them, but I just think (well, know) that 360 has better exclusives.

I can't stand the mushy triggers on the PS3 controller...I really hope they do a complete redesign for the new dualshock.I prefer it as well. Dual Shock 3 should be close to ideal for me. In my hands, sony controllers are ergonomic.
Lies! Killzone is completely different than Halo. I'd much rather play a game of Killzone then Halo.
The main complaint about most of the games today is length but they are still Must Play games.
For me, the length of those games makes them rentals. That is where Heavenly Sword and Uncharted fall for me. They may be great games, but I'm not shelling out $60 for that length. I have R&C from Gamefly right now and while it is fun, I'm not feeling any replay value in it. I'd be playing it more right now if it wasn't for Mass Effect and Rock Band.
The rental does not fall as an exception from the rule. Once you rent a game you play it right? This is what I meant by must PLAY. As for mandatory purchases that will be up to you since some people would rather own a title that they find great in some way and others will acknowledge it for being good but will not want to pay for it since they can finish it in the time of a rental. I have been playing a lot of much older games lately since I have been screwing around with homebrew for my PSP and I find that there are almost no games that even come close to the older once when it comes to play time except for maybe an RPG like Oblivion. I prefer to buy the games that I feel showcase what the PS3 can do. I like to let my friends come over and play said games and hopefully I can get more people I know to play online with.
I got the Best Buy 56" Samsung DLP + 360 Pro combo and then did a big order to new egg where I got an HD-DVD player and an HDMI cable. I am very happy with the results, but I am the first to admit that I am much more an FPS player than an RPG player, so the 360 works for me.
From the last that I heard the 40GB version of the PS3 is not backwards compatible, and that alone disqualifies it in my book. If I could get the backwards compatible 60 or 80 model with the Dualshock3's when they come out I probably would, but right now I'm very pleased with my setup.
