30bits videocard

I' m currently searching for a small videocard able to output 30bits (3*10bits) colors to plug with a futur PA301W for photographic and desktop usage.
I heard 10bits require a displayport and won' t work with DVI.

I don' t need enormous power, but if i can launch old 3D games it would be nice.
A very low consumption is required (for energy saving and for silence).

I saw the AMD V3800 which have a displayport and seems to support 10bits, but it seems a little old to me (not latest 28nm)

Ideally a 28nm/zerocore/low power card would be perfect, but i don' t know if such a card exist or is ever planned ?

HDMI 1.3a and above can do deep color too, DVI can theoretically do deeep color, but it's not part of the standard. All the firestream/Quadro cards can, as can a few of the geforce/radeons (the is one I think, some of the 400 series geforces can too (probably the lower end models meant for media play due to blu ray).

Well, the workstation products aren't ready on the 28nm front, but as you can see the lowly 7750 that doesn't require any external power does support deep color through hdmi (and i guess through display port). So, pretty much anything of the 7xxx series would have a comparatively low power comsumption while supporting deep color.

If nvidia would put out their mid and low end products too you would be able to see the same thing i bet, as they claim that the support for such features exists in hardware and will be coming in a future driver release of the 680.


If you don't mind using non 28nm tech, as DeathPrincess said a great range of radeon's and geforce's support the feature too, just check for the HDMI version indeed.
