Was trying to decide what chip to go with for a S754 system, and was convinced over at XS to go with a 3000+ DTR. Ordered one up from newegg for the lowly price of $135 and received a 0502 DPEW CAA2C chip. Threw that puppy in my S754 mobo and I"m at 2.5 ghz prime stable at 1.55V however all monitors read 1.49 V. Yah 2.5 ghz isn't 2.6 ghz but this is in a SFF with only a 240 W PSU and 16 A on the +12V. What we do know is that the five letter code is probably corresponding to the silicon used (or at least is a very good predictor of performance) think back to the JIUHB of the 1700+ days or the CBBHD of winny's, and now realize CAA2C is the stepping used for the FX-55's, and unlike the AS 3500+ chips which also carry this code and have been OCing like crazy, the DTR has all its cache enabled a full 1 mb. :D

That certainly shows up for budget socket 754 solutions. Only thing it lacks is dual channel memory and PCI-e, but someone will probably strap an NF4 northbridge onto a socket 754 board.

MSI already has (Neo3)...now if only you could buy them somewhere :).

You can buy Asus' K8N4-E (IIRC), available at NewEgg. "nForce4 4x" chipset with socket754.

well, dual channel don't matter and pci-E really don't matter right now, so what's the point hehe
