3.4C or 3.4E?

Thinking about getting one of these. Don't know which is better for OC. I have a good WC setup, so heat won't but much of an issue.
Not getting Conroe in July. Waiting until Christmas to get a E6600.
 
3.4C's are hard to find & usually more expensive. They usually run a little cooler than 3.4E's but don't overclock as high. (in general)

The 3.4E's hit higher clocks, but require better cooling at all speeds.

Its a trade off, they both have their +'s & -'s
 
3.4C might do 3.6-3.8...3.4E might do 3.8-4.0. Probably about the same performance wise at those speeds.
 
I had 2 3.4c's and one of them would do 4ghz with zalman air and the other at 3.92ghz with temps around 45c load.
 
most 3.2C's did similar, and are much cheaper and easier to find.
The ONLY reason to get a 3.4C over a 3.2C is if you've got a non-overclockign motherboard, like a Dell or something, and you're trying to max it out.

But if you've got a decent overclocking mobo, you can pick up a 3.2C and get about the same top clock.
