3.2 Spider System ??

i asked them that when i called they said no. it will be 3.2ghz.

it doesnt say upto.

The auction clearly states "overclock range: 2.3 to 3.2".....read the fine print

Overclock Range: 2.3Ghz to 3.2Ghz

Service Package is Inluded:

1. We do overclocking your system from 2.3Ghz to 3.2Ghz and keep the best bios configuration.

And "included" is spelled wrong..:)
Ebay thrives on people who do not read the entire description...

If I remeber correct they had claimed that past 2.4 ghz (around 2.5) some kind of problem would arise (I am not 100% of they said if that was the TLB eratium) but some problem would arise at those frequency's and that was the reason they gave for only 2.2 and 2.3 ghz parts.

Yes it is the TLB erratum. But if that was the case, why the hell would they mandate the TLB fix in only 2.2 and 2.3GHz processors? Something is rotten in Denmark...

well even with there accent they said it will be @ 3.2 ghz.

and it shows Check the Sheet to see how much $money$ you save from our Free OC service

Model Clock Speed
AMD Phenom™ Quad-Core 9600

Overcloced by ETC OC Service Package
3.20 GHz
Intel® Core™2 Quad Q6600 2.40 GHz
Intel® Core™2 Quad Q6700 2.66 GHz
Intel® Core™2 Extreme QX6600 2.66 GHz
Intel® Core™2 Extreme QX6800 2.93 GHz
Intel® Core™2 Extreme QX6850 3.00 GHz

from 2.3Ghz to 3.2Ghz

from 2.3 (stock) to 3.2ghz (oc)

even though it says range up there at the top is reads in between both number as "to" 3.2

not "up to" or "as high as"

so there is no fine print. call them you will see what they are claiming.

im not saying it can do it. just what the ad reads and what they said on the phone.

now on the overdrive video. they show a phenom go to 3.0 easy. why is everyone else having trouble gettiong there? i dont know. could be lots of reasons. not uping the pci bridgeclock. lowering the ram clock.

one thing for sure it takes more than just upping the reference clock aand/or the multi to get a phenom to go past 2.6-2.7.

its going to be a combination of the right hardware and the right bios settings. updated everything.

Interesting that they choose to overclock a Phenom, and not a Q6600 which actually can be clocked up to that speed and more..

OK you win.....I'm not gonna argue with you about this...Buy it and enjoy it.
Ebay was made for people like you.

Not every proc is the same, which is why we all see different overclocking results. Very experienced overclockers can not get their Phenom procs overclocked more than a few hundred Mhz.

It's easy for a company to cherry-pick a proc that will do 3ghz, and use that for the demo. Remember the 3ghz demo they showed last year, which was supposedly to demonstrate that Phenom was doing quite well clock-wise?

This Ebay guy is full of shit. That is the take-away point here. I think I'll give them a call this morning and pretend that I'm clueless to see what kind of bullshit they send my way.

Hell, even that bullshit "look at the money you save" chart is hilarious; he's comparing clock frequencies as though Phenom and C2D IPC is the same...

im not wanting to buy there system. i was planning a similar system and stubled upon that one that is using all the same parts i was picking out on the "egg".

so here read this fine print: FU!

oh i reported them to eghey LOL never done that before.

Just to mention I gave these guys a call yesterday. The 'sales representative' (I use this term loosly) was a guy who sounds like he had been speaking English the first time in many, many years.

I asked him how they determine the system is 'stable' and he didn't understand the word stability. I explained it in a different way, and he said "It no crash because we have software."

I couldn't hold back and started laughing. There wasn't a reason to keep pushing because (as if everything else already didn't point to it) they're full of shit.

I may be imagining things also but you seem to whine and bitch an awful lot about other peoples opinions without actually providing your own thoughts on the topic...

In case you didn't realise, there ARE other forums *cough* Xtremesystems *cough* where plenty of people have overclocked Phenoms and 3.2GHz is unheard of on air...

Can't be much worse than flitting from various forums to obsessively "whine and bitch" about AMD. I don't remember addressing you or anyone personally. You might be right about Xtremesystems being a more reliable source of information though.

OK please list the other forums that I post at, let's see how good your e-stalking skills are.

At least my contributions in this forum are constructive and leads to further discussion.

I think your self-indulgent reply is worth enough thought as the time it might take to block your userid, if that feature did in fact exist at Hardforums. At least my agenda is clear here. I come looking for information on AMD systems, and don't appreciate it being obscured or derailed.

well this threads gone to shit.

someone PM the guy who wins that auction and tell em to download CPU Z and see what it says, if they're willing...

Ebayers are pretty anti-social sometimes. :D

edit:
check it out guys the CMOS uses AMDs new 65nm process... you can enter bios almost 2X faster now!

bump.

holy sheep shit batman! Look at that resurrection!

what happened? Anyone get in contact with the winner? turn out to be 3.2GHz after all?

that place styill hasnt sold one. on ebay that is. but hey they reached 3.0 on this site.

so its not like 3.0 isnt possible. but either way. on the last call i had with that place i did get them to admit it was not garanteed 3.2. but as you said between 2.8 and 3.2.

my build is on hold waiting for the 9850.
