Actually, he's still gonna have to do much looking and learning in 6 months since many things can change in six months. In fact, I'm willing to bet that 90% of the build Daemas posted will be completely outdated/outperformed/overpriced/out of place in six months.

So in other words, I recommend waiting about two weeks before he starts building to ask for build help or move up the build time to within 1 month from now.

definitely agree with you there.

Ah, didn't see the six-month delay, there. I would imagine not more than one component would be the same in six months.

no he wants to see parts that are combined well currently so in 6 months he'll know what is new. this is just to get him looking at the market for estimated prices and performance currently

All he has to do is look at all the other build threads to see which parts "combine well" right now. When its time for his build, he should really start a new thread or revive this one, since what "combines well" now, may not "combine well" later. :p ;)

ok lets revive it!! lol

Huh?

As enginurd said, just look through the other threads. We don't recommend entire build lists if it's just gonna be incompatible. So whatever parts list you see, at least the ones by HardwareGuru, Enginurd, lt_shiro, gwarren007, tiraides, or myself, should be entirely compatible.

This. There may well be new CPUs and GPUs out by the summer, so probably best to wait until closer to the time. If you want to know what's popular/compatible at the moment check out the dozens of other build threads.
