Well, a cousin of mine asked me to put together an eyefinity rig for him. He works out of his house, and wants a nice work/gaming PC with lots of screen to replace his aging laptop.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
He'll be mostly using it for work, although photography is a big hobby of his, so he'll be wanting to do some photo editing as well. He's a moderate PC gamer. Games I know he plays are WoW, Diablo 3, some all of the Total War games, and a bit of Battlefield 3.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$2,500 is the hard cap. Taxes and shipping included.
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Needed parts:
CPU + cooler, GPU(s), RAM, PSU, SSD hard drive, optical drive(s), chassis, and a sound card if there's room in the budget.
Needed Peripherals:
Monitors, keyboard (he wants a mechanical one), speakers, headset for teh gamingz, and a webcam if there's room in the budget.
As far as the monitors are concerned, he would prefer a 16:10 aspect ratio, but might settle for 16:9 if the budget doesn't allow for it. 1080p or better is a must.
Regarding the optical drive. He wants to read Blu-Ray and burn CDs/DVDs. He already has a DVD burner, so a plain BR drive would probably be most cost effective, yes?
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
His mouse is sticking around. And he's got a 1TB Seagate that he'll be using for storage purposes. There's also a DVD burner that will make the port.
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yes, probably the CPU only.
7) 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
1920x1200 is preferable, but 1920x1080 is acceptable. 20"-24" would be a good size. There's gonna be 3 of em, remember!
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
He'll be making the purchase within the next month.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
Crossfire and USB 3.0 - along with overclockability - are really the only must haves.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
He's got a legit copy of windows7 64bit.
