I'm getting a new PC soon and it's going to have a water cooling loop in it. Random information : I live in Canada, I am over clocking, I will be adding a second GPU later, and the radiator will be externally mounted to the side of the Corsair 800D as in this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aD8t03DGqvQ&feature=related

Also, I will be getting all the actual computer parts from warehouse pricing so the partpicker price isn't what ill be paying. The cost for the watercooling parts comes all from frozencpu.com

Now here is my partpicker build so far :

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/ca/p/a9Vd

CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K
Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Extreme
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB
Hard Drive: Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card
Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 800D ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair 850W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

Total $2296.51

Water cooling items as of now:

Phobya XTREME Nova 1080 Radiator
Phobya Nova 1080 External Radiator Box
Radiator Box Faceplate
External Radiator Shroud
FrozenQ PC Mods Liquid Fusion V 2nd Gen 400mm Blue
Phobya DC12 400 12v Water Cooling Pump
EK-FB Waterblock KIT - RE4 Rampage IV Extreme - Plexi+EN
EK-Supremacy - Plexi Nickel
EK Radeon HD 7970 VGA Liquid Cooling Block
EK Radeon HD 7970 Backplate
Total: $772.74

A few questions for the finishing of the build, and please critique my build fully. I'm willing to change nearly anything although I would like to keep the 3930k and the R4E. I've taken a liking to the corsair 800D so I'd like that to stay. I also wanted to give the external mounting a shot. Seems like a good way to keep the case clutter free and keep it as appealing as possible while keeping the ambient heat from the radiators and fans outside the case.

The power supply i have no idea yet, that one is just a placeholder for now, any good suggestions based on this next information would be awesome. I plan to have in the build a full 64gb of ram for the R4E. I will also add another 7970 later on but it's not important right now, same as the ram, not too pressing of an issue to have it fully populated. I will be overclocking everything in the system and may eventually add ram water blocks to the build later as well so I'll need a PSU that can handle that future load.

The SSD and HDD seem solid but I'll probably just get a 1TB drive instead of the 3.

Now for the questions about the fittings. I would like to go compression fittings but am not sure of the current better brands based on actual customer feedback. Same with tubing, what are the best tubing companies out right now? Pretty sure its 1/4 to 3/8 tubing and compression fittings ill need.

Now sleeving the PSU, is it worth it in the end to go to those lengths. I'm not sure of the process of it at the posting of it so I'll look at a guide after posting this on this site.

Also for the fan selection. I don't really care about LED's on the fans, I just want a silent PC so what would the better fan selections be. I'm sure I can get the slower spinning ones as the radiator is large enough for them. The mounting box also allows for push pull configurations so I'll probably do that.

I'm not sure if I have any more questions but any help would be great.

EDIT: Also, is the nickel plating issue with EK fixed or should I go another brand?
EDIT2: Changed ssd to the samsung 830 128gb
EDIT?: Changed a few parts, namely ram, harddirve, psu

For now, music/video production, programming and scripting, as well as gaming. I also do a lot on the computer for my work but its just spreadsheets for financial reports so that isn't really important. What I'm really getting it for is when I go back to school. I'll be using rendering software for engineering and physics courses as well as programming. The majority of my time will be on a computer and I haven't done a full upgrade in years. I'd like to get into folding in the future as well. The amount of RAM is because I'll be using RAM cache/disks for various applications. Computers have been my hobby as well since I was 3 years old and my mom taught me how to use them. I've been wanting to build a rig like this for a long time but I just haven't been in the financial situation for that. I'll be needing a new computer for school anyways, and since I'm getting the parts at warehouse pricing makes it all the more appealing to get a high end build. The opportunity won't be around for long so I need to take it now.

id swap out that ssd for a samsung 830.

Thank you, I'll look into it.

If you are going to go EK, go plain copper. The nickle plating still has issues apparently. They've also had complaints about milling lately. If I were you, I'd go with a different brand.

Thanks for the heads up. What other brands would you suggest for me to check out?

Koolance and XSPC both make blocks for your mobo, videocards and CPU socket. Up to you really with which one you prefer.

Heatkiller and Aquacomputer make some awesome GPU blocks.

I would also avoid EK simply due to their shoddy customer service. They seem to think customers are liable to them, not the other way around.

Thanks for the information on waterblocks! I know a good amount about the companies that provide typical PC parts like mobos but know nothing of watercooling companies. Thanks once again. Ill look over XSPC, Koolance, Heatkiller and Aquacomputer

I went EK with all my blocks save the GPU, but I went copper. I liked the design of their RIVE block which is why I went with it instead of one of the others. Their CSQ 680 block, however, is A W F U L. Inlet/outlet on the same side and 70's retro styling? No thank you. I went with the EVGA block. Even if it flows a little less than the others, it definitely is aesthetically pleasing enough to outweigh the tiny negative in performance. I didn't see any milling issues when I went through all the EK parts. I would, however, advise avoiding their nickel plated items. Most of your build is solid, but take a look at the 680s. They outperform the 7970 in most games, and their power requirements are insanely low. They seem to be in stock now a lot more, too. Also, I know you like the 800D, but take a look at Caselabs. You can fit 4 (yes, 4) 480 rads in their TH10 and still have room to put, well, anything inside. One of the biggest things for me in picking them was the fact that Caselabs is 100% U.S. made. If you decide to stick with the 800D, you're still golden, I'm just a fan of everything internal.
