24 pin vs 20 pin

how do i tell if i need a 24 pin power supply or 20 pin power supply for my computer. I;m looking to upgrade to a psu from the list on this site.

i have a 2400+ with an msi motherboard kt3-ultra

Look in your manual. I am betting that it is a 20 pin just by the age of it.

Be warned tho, using a 24 pin ATX with a 20 pin ATX adapter may not work if your motherboard requires the -5volt line.

Its 20 pin... I just looked up your motherboard model and counted the connector on the motherboard

I figured it was 20 anyways because I know for a fact my kt333 was 20 pin. I dont ever even remember 24 pin PSUs being around when I was purchasing one for mine... but that was a while ago.
