Why do we put up with manufacturers not publishing input lag specifications? It's more relevant to interactive apps (games) than most of the other numbers they list. Call it "input latency" if that sounds more professional.

It would be nice if they were held to some kind of standard on this.

Anyway, can anyone recommend a good 24" gaming monitor, 1920x1200 would be best or just 1080p. Low input lag is a must.

I could do 23" also if it was better. 120Hz a plus.

I just saw the Asus VG248QE but again I have no way to know what the input lag is.

check out this site for input lag and RTC overshoot.

I bought my Samsung 2233RZ due to reasonable input lag, RTC overshoot was the best ever and 120hz makes a difference. Plus it is a 16:10 rather than 16:9 monitor.

Bit dated and small compared to the current crop, but I'm frustrated I can't find anything comparable on those variables

Go visit TFTCentral or Prad.de. All your needs for input lag testing of gaming monitors. Personally, I just purchased a FS2333 and I'm awaiting delivery with input lag being the least contributing factor. Input lag in monitors is...rare to go up/above 2 frames. I got it for other reasons. Some people are picky about input lag, some of them actually know the difference, but for the most part once a display has a frame buffer of one frame or below it's rather placebo. No one but gamers competing at high-level play in fighting games will benefit from a display with input lag under one frame.

Input lag isn't a big deal with monitors as most monitors have minimal input lag. HDTVs however..that's a headache.
