23" Apple cinema display

This piece of tin can is over price, w/ features does not come close to the Dell 2405, in which the Dell gives you 1 inch more diagonal, w/ much better spec., thus performance at a lower price.

heck....S-IPS panels are all more expensive not just the Apple. the Dell is cheap in that they dont expect you asking for any decent services ... Apple Care is crappy too so i guess this is like a dozen to twelve. They use different techs so the specs are not really comparable...as i said they also use different sticks to measure specs.

talking abt the spec comparasion without even taking all the varables/measuring methods into account is pointless and um...shall we say ignorant?

what exactly is the big deal here?

you dont think the apple is worth the money. thats GREAT!!!

its the same argument every time and it's very tiresome.

buy what you want, shutup about what other people buy.
um if you didnt notice he was asking for our input and personally i think the 2405 is a better buy, now @ $600 thats a great price and i would take it over the 2405 because its cheaper and has some good qualities BUT if i could i would buy the ACD sell it for 1000-1400 buy a 2405 for $900 and buy some other computer parts or something with the difference. The ACDs are nice but they are really expensive and i think the 24o5 serves an equal purpose and is a great lcd. Chill out man, no one is intentionally dissing on apple

no, whats really funny is how you Apple people love to cry and moan EVERY SINGLE TIME that someone says anything negative about any Apple product.

this has ALWAYS been the situation every single time that I've met up with an Apple person and we get into these heated debates.

why is that? are you people so insecure that you have to defend your Apple computer stuff as if it were your own child?

sheez.....

well, look whos talking!!

well, in my view you are the one not understanding...

BUT! i'll shutup so please no more comments on this matter

cause in the end, who really cares what we think

Ok its time to warp this up --

1. for all you ppl talking about specs without knowing they are of different panel techs (S-IPS and PVA), please seal your lips and do some reading/learning....you are merely insulting yourself and misguiding others.

2. Pretty much ppl above comparing the specs haven't used one Apple 23" before. you cant honestly trust them since they are just shooting the breeze and they dont know what they are talking abt. The comparasion is not fair for both.

3. Dell 2405 FPW and the Appple 23" are both good panels which have their own pros/cons nonetheless.

4. the Appple being an S-IPS panel has super color saturation and a wide color gamut. Unfortunately, some color consistency issues have rendered it unsuitable for serious gfx work. Other than that, no matter what you use it for, gaming, word processing/coding, video playback/movies, even web dev., its a gorgeous display and a real eye opener for its elegant design.

5. Samsung's PVA tech makes their panels very bright with an excellent contrast ratio and viewing angle. Inherently, the response time on PVA panels is not very reliable. And the slightly bigger size actually would make the pixelation more prominent to some ppl.It may have very good backlightling but the color consistency is still not perfect. On top of all these, the stupid Dell design wraps the sleek samsung panel with crap and makes it look cheap and unrefined. But considering the price, I guess everybody could live with it.

6. that being said, the thread starter, you need to see both and pick one you like and suits your needs better.
