I'm going to add a second 22" display and I figure I might as well go ips. Can I get something at that price point?

I'm not sure you can get IPS for under $200. *VA might be possible though.

The closest thing you can get is the dell 2209wa for $209 - $240 shipped depending on where you located.

where in the world are you finding the 2209wa for less then $300

that monitor is a complete waste of money for $300 and a Max Resolution of 1680x1050

If you call small business I believe you can get it for 212 shipped. At 300 it is overpriced as it is only 1680x1050. If it was a 1080p then it would be worth the 300.

There is a 100+ page thread in this forum dedicated to people purchasing the 2209wa. I wouldn't call an IPS panel a complete waste of money. Some people rather have better PQ over resolution.

Yeah, for a lot of people, it'd be well worth the money even at $300... There's basically few any other options (if any) for 22" IPS displays, and decent 24" IPS displays start at $500+. At close to $200 it's actually a pretty good bargain. When I take the plunge on an Eyefinity setup at some point I'm strongly considering stepping down from my current 24" LCD, a 1920x1200 Samsung TN which I got for $200 at Costco, and going for that Dell display.

I'm perfectly happy w/my 24" Samsung, and I don't need the higher color accuracy of an IPS display for what I do on my computer day-to-day... But three 22" or 24" TN displays turned on their sides would look less-than-optimal in an Eyefinity setup imo. Horizontal viewing angles on my Samsung are alright but vertical is horrible and vertical would turn into horizontal w/the displays in portrait mode.

The NEC 23" is another e-IPS option, but it is going to be $300-$350. It has 1920x1080 resolution in case that's important to you.

I have to keep it 22" because of the desk layout. I already have a 225BW TN and am getting ready to add a second, so i figure I might as well go IPS since I do a lot of photo editing.

That's a 17" to the left that I am replacing, 22" is the biggest I want to the side and as you can see, 22" in the middle is it. I could simply add another 225/226.... but I want to upgrade.

That looks tight - you may want to check the NEC's external width, it is very close to the size of a 22" - it probably is < 1" wider than that 22".
