22" 1920x1200 resolution

I saw that Lenovo in front of me the other day. I really liked the very high DPI.

Although I prefer a 24" for watching movies.

One of the highest rated monitor out there with IQ on par with those professional graphics monitors. I use that monitor daily to view and edit photos taken my Canon's EOS 1D MarkIII series DSLR and its just perfect.

I have a samsung 22" wide and i love it

Why? Personal taste?

1. I don't like PVA/MVA, it can create a "holo-efect", also check my signature.
2. Too small pixels. Now I'm used to 25,5", which has quite large pixels.
3. I'd prefer 20" 4:3 to 22" 16:10.

But all these points are subject to personal taste.

May I ask why you can't buy 24" or 26" monitor? You know, we in Czechia are mostly god-and-spirits-forsaken ateists :)

Not according to the review above. Backlight modulation is poor and it runs 180cd/m2 at ZERO. Way too bright. Also it is a wide gamut panel and will be quite off on color for sRGB applications (98% of applications expect sRGB monitor). It also has 30ms of lag which is probably OK for most, but might be an issue for some.

As a personal peeve. I can't use VA panels because the Holographic effect mentioned by Biges bothers me a lot. I have purchased TN/PVA/IPS and only VA does this to me.

Picking monitors is highly subjective thing.

Feng Shui...Feng Shui is why I can't buy a larger monitor. Feng Shui and a wife who is really into Feng Shui.

Have I mentioned Feng Shui?

She found a 19" monitor with 1440x900 and I proceeded to remind her that my 2005 laptop has that...so she researched and found........another 19" monitor but this one has 1680-1050 res.

I then proceeded to remind her that HER brand new laptop has 1920x1200 resolution.

I think she is caving, but we'll see.

So, what does have Feng Shui to do with it? Is it something like... eee... astrology? I mean in the effect.

It has to do with how your room is arranged and what is seen as the focal point of the room. Very large screens(TV, Monitor or otherwise) are bad Feng Shui. They should not be the focal point of your room.

I used to have a very nice, very large flat screen plasma TV...emphasis on the "used to". :(

Thats cool, it makes her happy, so...

Thank God my wife is hooked on the 65" in the living room. It makes my computer monitors look small:D

Isn't it against Feng Shui to impose ones will on another person? But I understand you love her :) What about buying two 24"? That way not a single of them would "dominate" the room :)

Frickin hilarious...I will use that exact argument tonight...I'll make sure I get some first though. ;)

HAHA! That's definitely a good one. If the monitor is too big, convince your wife to buy a bigger elephant statue or so.

lol my asian girlfriend is into feng shui too

i hope i dont have to give up my 32 1080p in the future =(

I love Penn and Tellers show...great, great stuff.

So, armed with the knowledge of Feng Shui, and my wife's adherence to it and KNOWING I'm not going to get anything bigger, is this 22" monitor with 1920x1200 resolution worth the $400 price tag?

What about a very, very slim 24" :) You know, black, barely noticable... you could even paint it with colours of you room, so it blends well, with your room.
Personally I'd go for 1680x1050 22" since I don't like too small pixels.

Penn and Teller is awesome. I try to catch their show as much as i can. I loved the one on Wal-Mart

I have an L220X. It isn't perfect, but is perfectly adequate for my purposes until new monitor tech becomes available.

I have an NEC 20WMGX2 sitting beside it. I slightly prefer images on that S-IPS panel, but the difference isn't overwhelming.

Personally I prefer it to the 24" Benq MVA I tried, but I prefer tighter dot pich in general. The saturated colors can be a little odd at times, but not so much so that I've bothered to try to adjust them away. The NEC is even worse in "Photo" mode.

I've seen this model recommended for photo work in the DPReview PC Talk forum.

You mean like a Benq V2400W? Like the one I have? :D

V2400W (also1920x1200 (WUXGA)) BenQ claims it's the world slimmest 24" and you can get it at just a little more than $400 using the promo code thankyou10 at BenQ store. I have one and I am very happy. With the similar price range I would rather get a 24" instead of 22".

No I think he means the FP241W.

It is now the only line of monitors BenQ sells that sport an A-MVA panel.

I am perfectly happy with my FP241VW, but initial batches had quality issues. Biges didn't like his either due to excessive buzzing and MVA color shifts if I remember correctly, but mileage may vary.

For example, I love this, but not as much as my NEC LCD2690WUXI-BK which to me is the cream of the crop, even with the associated wide gamut oversaturation typical of any wide gamut display (even TN).
