Yeah, folding@home, makes me feel like I'm helping out and it's a pretty cool screensaver.

Thanks for the comment on the case, I'm likin it too.

did anyone in this thread see a very zen looking desk, very minimal, with a light wooden colored desk, 2 speakers against the wall and i believe the monitor was wall mounted as well, and a little plant too.

been searching for a while, cant find it

Haven't got around to post it lately but here it is:

Running ubuntu 5.10 in all it's xorg 6.9 goodness, the xorg.conf is almost mythically complex, I still get lost in it sometimes.
Excuse the mess to tired too clean up :p

Works very well for IRC and browsing multiple forums.

why would you need that many monitors? (notice even more on the floor). If you just had them lying around for whatever reason ok, but seems excessive. . .for almost any reason i can think of.

Well, that array of CRTs offers a good way to give oneself a vasectomy without surgery.

Well, if he used the 2 on the floor there's a nice 3x3 array of monitors.... if only they weren't old, heavy CRTs ;)

But, that's an interesting setup to say the least. Only real use I could see is as a day-trader... Those guys have screens of information in front of them to keep track of their stocks "real-time" and are completely insane :D

A slight update since the last time you saw it. I threw the box under the desk and moved the receiver to the left a bit. Looks a bit better, right? :p.

Well that's one way to heat the room....

All my boxes, games books...

My camera picks up dust I didn't even know existed

I'll spare you the horror of dust by giving you a blurry, non flash picture

And last but not least, my brother's setup. I believe he is making a dish collection
:p

So there you have it, Lynch's room. BTW my name isn't really Lynch.

Yeah I see that now, thats pretty badass. I'll probally start leaving that running on my pc when I go to work..

the part that confused me was the fact that it says, "screensaver engaging" at the bottom.

i pretty much have that exact same desk. i love it but the only problem is that with my heavy 19 inch crt, the wood is starting to bow downwards and thus is bending the entire desk in the middle. its not noticeable unless you look for it.
please give a canada zip code, i cant see desk u guys are talking about.

crts monitors. time for a sirious upgrade!
Unless you like color fidelity and gaming  But seriously I have LCDs but there's no reason to dump on CRTs, a lot of people keep them by choice

agreed. The only reason I decided to ditch my 21 crt as my main monitor is that it was getting old, and I had to be able to move it every three months for the next few years.

i use to have a crt and it gave me a headack on every setting so i got a lcd and its all gone

I still have an 21 inch monitor made in 1998 and it still works perfectly.

If it ain't broken.. why replace it? I have huge surface on my desk so saw no real need to upgrade.

And I like the flexibility with resolution. I don't have to put up with shitty image when using LCD below it's native resolution.

i love my crt to death but my only gripes are that it is so heavy, it is starting to bow the wood on my desk, and certain fonts are fuzzy and hard to read. other than that i would love to keep my crt but it is almost time to go to lcd.
