I'm almost 22 (will be Oct 11) and would like to have a job, problem is that there just isn't that many Computer/IT Jobs im my small town of Tyler, Texas. Guess I'll be sacking gorceries instead for now. :(

Any work is good work :) I'm not in IT myself I'm only a lowly retail manager

Right, but this is the "2006 Post Your Workstation" thread, not "The cleaned post pics of your rig! - ABSOLUTELY NO COMMENTS" thread

Well, it's not home, but it's the best I could do in the dorm....

I spent the past three weeks with shitty cable, but the maintenance guy came in today and fixed it. So, out with the crappy 13" TV, and in with the E1705 17" Media Center :), thus completing my workstation area.

Is that a Brother HL-2070N? How do you like it? Mine is coming in the mail from Costco.

yes, it is. Newegg sold the printer and a spare toner cartridge for like 190 shipped. I got mine from provantage.com for 167. It was a rushed decision, as I found out my HP Photosmart 1000 leaked ink all over itself while it was in storage about 1 hour before I left for college.

I like it a lot so far, much more reliable over the network than my old setup was (Wireless router w/ print server, with HP printer attached through USB)...whenever I'd try to print something the first time, the first page was garbled, but everything printed afterwards for a while was fine.

x64 drivers weren't on the disc, though. I downloaded them, and set it up on all my systems as a local printer over a TCP/IP port (changed the address to static in the admin control panel)...and everything works great. Don't have to use any of the Brother software, which is good, as I hate having all that bullshit HP stuff that normally gets loaded on systems.

I occassionally miss color, but it's a damned good printer, the best I've had. I'll be using this for quite a while....

Thanks for the reassurance. I'm a big Costco customer, and recently bought the Epson RX620 all-in-one with the $50 off coupon, but then read online that it has a voracious appetite for ink cartridges, so I ordered the Brother HL-2070N as a low cost, network-ready printing solution for text jobs. I was a little concerned about the curled printouts mentioned in some reviews, but I like Brother better than Lexmark so I went with it. Glad to hear that it's working out for you.

This is the WORKSTATION thread, and an LCD is part of a WORKSTATION

work·sta·tion - n.
An area, as in an office, outfitted with equipment and furnishings for one worker and usually including a computer.

Dude, he was referring to your comment on my comment about Dark Captain's PC....which is NOT a workstation.

BTW, I'm REALLY jealous of some of you guys!

Then why would he quote me then!? I've been jelious off all you LCD people, now i finally have one.

duude, is your pc output being displayed on your TV?? how do u do that?

Um... TV-Out... It's the port in between the DVI connectors(or between the DVI and VGA connectors if your card isn't dual-DVI).

I'm unstickying this simply because it's getting a bit long in the tooth.

My excuse: P180.

And i'm still waiting on my new drives, dvd drives, another few yates, heatsink, and shorter power supply.

First i wanna apologize for the poor quality. Pics taken with Nokia 6270

I was wondering the same thing. Are those Klipsch speakers?
Haha, I doubt it.
They are active monitors of some sort.
Since I'm not up to date with monitors though, I have no idea what they are.
