it's hard to imagine anyone that can put up w/ that level of mess

You may look at that machine and wonder why i can put up with it.

Back then it was pretty much a project to find out how many disks i could hook up to the same server, surprisingly, it was a kick ass server.

Most if not all the raid arrays posted r/w's above 60mb/s. It also had uptime of approx 9.4 months, until it was ripped up and rebuilt for a rack.

Setups like yours are what transcends grass roots computing. The multi-CRT displays with parts laying around in a seemingly disorganized fashion is part and parcel of a technology afficianado.

By chance, are you a sysadmin by trade?

It the O'Sullivan Diplomat desk, several people have them around here, but i got it at staples, link its a really good desk, very solid and stable, and BIG, when we started putting it up last week, we saw it was quite a bit bigger that what it looked from the pics at staples.

Im making my way through Zeta right now, both the series and the movies. Ive seen everything else except for Victory in its entirety. Ive been dying for Bandai to release Victory here in the US but they keep giving us Seed crap. If Victory and Turn A aren't next after Seed Destiny, i'm firebombing bandai's hq, lol.

The old multi-screen system, at one point i had a total of 9 monitors (6 CRTs 3 LCDs) hooked up to the same system.

Mobile Athlon 2500
1.25 GB DDR
Quad 36gb 10.000 RPM U160's Raid 5
Dual 9.1 GB 10,000 RPM u160's (pagefile) Raid 0
1 ATI Radeon 7500 AGP (dual head)
2 ATI Radeon 7000 PCI's (dual heads)
1 ATI Radeon 7000 PCI (single head)

plus the wonderfull invention of Maxivista, linking the last monitors

The other system was a:
Athlon 64 2800+
1gb DDR
Triple Seagate Cheetah 10,000 RPM U160's Raid 5
ATI Radeon 9800 XT

Man, you're living the dream

And to think people throw out CRT monitors
