Well, here is my setup:

The three monitors are the Dell 2005FPW 20" widescreen, a Dell 18" Ultrasharp, and a 15" Viewsonic ViewPanel VPA150 turned on its side in portrait mode.
.

I was thinking of doing something like that. How do you find viewing the 15" turned to its side like that? I'm not talking about portrait mode, I'm referring to the 90 degree from the LCD at the front. Is it awkward to turn to the right, back and forth like that?

actually it's not too bad. I mainly use the third for monitoring torrents (uTorrent) and my sound levels (windows volume control) so I'm only looking over there every once and a while to check out specs and stuff. The reason it has to be like that is because I have no space left on my desk for another one :p I commonly use the main one for whatever I'm doing (webbrowsing, photoshop etc) and the second one for Gaim and iTunes.

That sounds interesting, I've never seen nor heard of someone doing that before...would you be able to post a screenshot? (Of the third screen, I mean)

but if you use robotic arms, you can put all 3 in front of you. And they are cheap and you only buy it once.

Heh. I've got a whole bunch, actually. 5000, 5500, 6000, 1000, 3000, 3100. :) I really love the stupid things...

The only reason I upgraded to the 3100 is because a friend of mine picked it up for $513 Canadian (From a place called Naniwadenki in Osaka.)

An update, I moved into my new room (into what used to be the guest room; now, it's my room unless guests stay the night :|).

Yes, I'll clean up those wires around the desk. They just kind of fell there, so please excuse the mess. :) Also, note the obligatory [H]ardForum shot. :p

Here are some close-ups of various things (linked to not take up much room, as they're all 800x600):

http://www.altered-screens.com/other/workstation/boxofstuff.jpg
My box of stuff, next to my subwoofer and old Dragon case, which is now home to my remotes.
http://www.altered-screens.com/other/workstation/ddrpad.jpg
A custom-made DDR pad my friend gave me (his dad's an engineer); in the picture of my consoles you can see the old PS1 controller that's been modified to connect to both the PS2 and the pad.
http://www.altered-screens.com/other/workstation/gameconsoles.jpg
My temporary console setup. That whole shelf thing (which used to be above my TV) will be nixed when I get a new dresser in here, at which point I'll clean up the wiring a bit. I did my best with what I had; there's only a hole out the back in the bottom shelf, and no holes between the two shelves. :[
http://www.altered-screens.com/other/workstation/partboxes.jpg
Of course, being the pack rat I am, I keep all my boxes (that I still have) in a neat little pile in the corner. Along with that dead ABIT AS-8.
http://www.altered-screens.com/other/workstation/sidedesk2.jpg
The desk next to my main desk, housing my collection of game boxes and the few CDs I want immediate access to, by big stacks of CDs in the circular holder things, a pair of drum sticks signed by Vic Firth, an old GeForce MX440, my PSP and so forth.
http://www.altered-screens.com/other/workstation/tenorpad.jpg
Something to do in my free time. :)
And finally:
http://www.altered-screens.com/other/workstation/compside.jpg
My final wiring solution that allows me to keep it neat AND put the back of the case on without having an enormous bulge. I was happy with it. Plus, I flipped around the bottom fan cooling the lower harddrive cage to pull air away from it, which helped a lot.

There it is.

Haha sweet yeah the best deal I found on a 3100 was roughly 500 USD. I'm going back soon so I'm tempted to bring back a 3100 but I don't know if I can justify it :)

Wow! One monitor dedicated to icons! I'd get lost on that desktop... I have to organize apps/games/etc in folders on my desktop.

Heh. Not really. That's the old computer that's badly in need of a good format. I used to download files directly to the desktop to work on, then leave them there. They're all on the right monitor because I've just upgraded that machine to 3 monitors.

The new computer is much more organized :p

Mind telling me if those X-530 are good while playing music?

I'm thinking of changing my speakers (i currectly have some 7 year old Kinyo that are HUGE) and i'm thinking of buying the X-530 or the X-230

my friend has the 2.1 version of those speakers, they sound great for music and video games.

i need to buy a new desk, i need a keyboard tray, it broke... anyone know a good one? looking like this one... BTW: i was playing NFS: most wanted while i was taking the pic.

yeah, those are great speakers on a tight budget, both are, i am cosidering the X-230 for a back up set cause they are just so cheap (~$30 at the Egg) and one of my friends really likes those 5.1s.

I don't remeber why type of keyboard it is (just a backup). She uses a Saitek Eclipe I think (we have a couple floating around). I am switching to a logitech G15 that I had painted to match my rig.

I think I ordered the keyboard you referenced from Xoxide.

nice rig darth and how are those koolance ram coolers? im kinda tired of having a big ole fan on top of my ram, kinda interrupts the cabling + flow of te sinde :D
btw heres my rig, its about a month old pic and since then, the ps2 has been moved as i was always lagging w/ my VIVO cable when i used it
its not taht great of a shot because its in the daylight, ill try and get a night shot w/ all the lights off, then u can see the blood red
edit:
LOL! i forgot the shot :p
desk-full.jpg

OMZ: The ram coolers are nice but I had to take the speaders off my Muskin modules to fit it on right. They use a bag for contact on the memory as does the hard drive cooler in the rig (also by Koolance). I tried to install a chipset cooler but it would not fit as VGA slots are too close.

BTW: Nice layout u got there. TI graphing calc? You in college?

haha thx, i gota stop by ikea one of these days an get a jerker :)
and ye,s that is a ti-83+ but no, im not in college
im just a little 15 yr old junior in high school :D at least im going to turn 16 in less than 1 month XD

this is the main workstation side of my L desk. spare rig is on the other side. finally got my new Athlon 64 box built

HEY DARTHBEAVIS!

If you dont mind me asking! … What do you do for a living ..lol You have the sickest Computer sh***t on the market

I even see an Apple 30in the background that it looks like the dell 30 took over! …that alienware looks to be around 5 to 7 Gs ... Without the paint job ..lol

I help my wife run her 5-doctor vet clinic.

Here are the clinic rigs (the silver one now painted Clone Trooper style is my main home rig but I use it to remotely access and administer the clinic . . .hint: tax write off):

Oh, the Apple is a 23". I had a Sony 23" as well. Sold both as I use the Dell 3007 instead. My wife uses two Dell 2001fps which she loves. Each rig at the clinic except for the office rig (an old DIY rig I built) has twin monitors as well for increased productivity. We are looking at buying tablet pcs for each exam room. Can't mod those ;)

The ALX is over a year old and came with an FX 55, 2 gigs Corsair XMS, dual 6800 Ultras, dual Raptors in Raid 0. I pretty much ripped all that out as you can see as well as the crappy Koolance waterblocks.
