It's nothing too fancy, its just hard to find a desk that will hold my CRT's and still have room for anything else.

If i ever get around to it ill takes pics of mine, bout year ago we just bought a 4'x8' board of malimime (i frget what it is u know the bits of wood glued together) and just cut it to how i wanted it while still fiting in room, and put feet on it.
 
the famous IKEA.. everyone says IKEA is trash but this desk holds all my shit and its sturdy as hell, once i get the 3rd lcd up and running again ill show u pic of cleaned up wires/3lcds and such.. desk onyl cost 89$ to.. and u can buy addons for it and such.. they also come in 3 colors, and was VERY easy to assemble.. only needed a screwdriver the other tool was included, took maybe 20min max
 
yeah, jacobb that is a really nice ikea desk....damn, I saw it I was like :eek: I want that...loks big enough to hold good amount of stuff. I think another good touch to it all is the wireless keyboard and mouse, those make it look that much nicer. If they were wired, it would still look nice, but not to the same effect! Nice monitors, as well....very nice!
 
heh thx, well im getting the logitech 3100mx combo next month.. its the mx3000 keyboard and mx1000 mouse but they are a blueish color.. i hope that doesnt throw my shit off to much or ill have to paint it :(

altho the desk is big 63" i wish they made a 70 or 72" one so i could run it along the whole wall :> but its plenty big, can fit 3 lcds + speakers w/ no issues ......and they have lil addon shevles u can buy for 10$ a peice which hold 66lb per shelf.. they go on the outsides of the desk for like printer and shit i might purchase 2 of those one like blank dvds and one for my ps2
 
Damn I love Ikea. I am not anywhere near one, but my brother lives in Minneapolis. He's just a short drive from the new one, so most of his furniture is Ikea. I would love to get some, that desk you have looks so nice. I love that it looks great, but it is still so functional.

Hah, I have the same exact desk and I removed the stupid tower stuff too! Weird.

edit: come to think of it, I have almost the same monitor (A90f+?)

Yeah the hutch part of the desk was crap, and short of building a desk, this was the only one big enough for all my stuff. And yup, an A90f, and an A90f+.

 
I have been wanting to post my setup for a while now, but could not find time.

I got it at Office Depot about 2 1/2 years ago. it was around 500-650
I probably paid to much but I had recently moved here,did not have a lot of time to shop around and neded a desk quick. It also came with a lateral file cabinet not shown on this pic. I will try to get the entire room tomorow. It is a good table, its been through 3 moves and on top of it my wife was the one that assembled it. It is sturdy and quite roomy

You can get it at Staples or Officemax for around $300, I got one in Maple then decided I didn't quite like it. only because I dont like having the system in the corner.
 
Jacobb, I have the same desk from Ikea. Picked up the 2 drawer addition too. Took maybe 45 minutes to put the whole thing together. It really straightens up my office!

Imagine what you could do with more than just zip ties and double sided velcrow like I had :p
 
I did that so the puppy can be under the desk by my feet without me worrying. After spending quite some time organizing cables in a similair fashion with some loop fasteners and double sides sticky tape what happens? I left one god damn cable on the floor that I disconnected and the puppy chewed it up! I'm getting him a muzzle (after I get one for the woman)
 
Yup, that's a big reason I did it too. 9month old lab/retriever that is a wire affectionado :p
 
well i cant do that type of wiring because of my monitors and where my case is.. i was going to drill holdes in desk and then ziptie it.. but didnt have enough length.. im gonna clean it up more tho soon :p

yes its my 2nd desk.. i got sick of the other one altho it cost way more $$$ then this ikea, but i like the ikea more :p
 
I have a 9 month lab too, but he does not mess with the wires, just any plastic bottles he finds. The wife's cat is another story, he loves playing with the wires. I used split tubing and that kept him off for the most part, and after the 20th time of me throwing him across the room helped too.
 
lol my sisters puppy doesnt chew on the rats nest under my table... maybe it knows its dead meat if it does. it takes all the little odds and ends trash out of my room tho, i cant complain... dont need to worry about picking it up layer if it does the job :D

wonder what she does with all those bottle caps.. some day ill find a big pile of chewed up bottle caps lol

thats pretty funny. now that you mention it I can't find many bottle caps either!

Ditto on everything you wrote. I'm a huge Jerker desk fan. Mine is perfect. I don't see how anyone could call IKEA trash.

I like your black Jerker. My old desk was black & glass, so I went with the birch Jerker.
 
Yes, I have to say I am quite surprised at the Swedes...they really know how to make some quality, cheap furniture :) Anyone else indulge themselves with their food whenever they stop in? I cannot but help grab some salmon caviar, or a cinnamon roll and coffee everytime I stop in.
 
The food is the best part of going to Ikea. Mmm apple pie and meatballs and potatoes and I'm hungry now....
 
When I went to get my computer desk and other apparel at IKEA, I noticed they had a bakery near their exit, it smelled of cinnamon buns. They smelled soooo delicious so I had to get some. $10 for 2 trays of 6 each, very good cinnamon buns to.
