I'm assuming being Klipsch that it's shield properly....but I still wouldn't have something with a magnet that large a foot or less away from my hard drive.....hell, I make sure that I've got about 4 feet between my case and any sub that I ever have. ;)

Very clean, and I like the book of choice ^_^

Not bad for 11 IMO.

Radion 9600XT

I had a 1.6 duron too, but the IDE controller died :(, but at least it is still folding.

When I was 11 I was out in some alley way playing pretend star wars or ghostbusters and making ramps to jump my bike with a playing card attached to the forks so it made that ratcheting noise. :D The good ole 80's. :p

Heh, I'm hoping to see them @ Ozzfest :). And I helped my brother out a LOT with that stuff. I remember those days with the bikes too. Then I got a 486 DX2 66mhz, and "Inside" was a little more appealing.

My inside workstation:

And my outside workstation:

:D :D :D

It's a full scale mockup of the new F-35 JSF's cockpit. It's got two flat, touch screen displays and a slightly modified F-16 stick and thottle. The canopy opens and closes, and its got tons of fans inside to keep it cool. I've got a little shuttle rig inside under the dash.

Got it for free, too. I just have to pay for a place to store it.

Post some pics of the inside!

I was very VERY lucky to get this. Lockheed Martin built it to do preliminary software development (they've actually just finished their 10 display, room-sized simulator). My dad works at the lab in Fort Worth where all this goes on.

One day he came home and told me they were planning on removing the "old" mockup to make room for all the new stuff (Lockheed Martin won the contract to build the JSF over Boeing). It was going to be thrown away. Being the member of a local scout troop, an Air Force JROTC unit, and a Venture Crew that specializes in computers, I immediately wrote to the execs about all the great things it could be used for.

Several letters, a meeting, and a $400 trailer later I ended up with a $100,000 flight simulator in my backyard. :D

The simulator is currently used by my high school's Air Force JROTC unit and the Boy Scouts of America. The JROTC has a ground school program for senior cadets and we take it to the local Jr. High's to get kids interested in aviation (and JROTC, naturally). The scouts have it set up every year at Tinker AFB's July 4'th airshow. My crew takes it to other programs, too. We've gone to airshows, carshows, fairs, etc.

And when it's not being used, I get to play with it. :p

I don't have any good pics of the new interior at the moment. It was originally all plastic and wood. We're redoing everything in aluminum and carbon fiber. We've got some parts done, but it's going to take a month or two. We also need to do some exterior maintenance, sand it down, fix the chipped bondo, repaint... I'll get lots of pictures while we work on it.

Here's some other pics:

This was the first time we set up, with one of my friends in the cockpit. Our wiring is all internal now.

This is the best pic of the old interior I could find, unfortunately with a neighbor in it. You can see the the mock-up ejection seat and the back of the screens without the dash.

Some of the ROTC people. The Pinzgauer (Austrian troop transport) belongs to the guy in front.

I'm trying to decide what to do with it when i graduate. I'll either have to leave it with the JROTC, which has promised to maintain it for the scouts, or give it to a museum. I've talked to the people in the big science museum in OKC (Omniplex).

In any case, I'll be making sure it gets put to good use. I'll have to get more pictures for you guys.

Yes, get some more pics. I would like to see what it looks like when u redo the inside.

Er... Ok.

Anyway, thanks for the comments.
I'll start a worklog when I pull the simulator out of storage next month. This thing will be awesome when it's finished.

I'm sorry Codegen, but your set up is nothing compared to the flight simulator.

No one is allowed to post here anymore, Nothing will be able to compete with Deathfrombelow!

Personally I think that aircraft mode is stupid and a waste. So Im glad Codegen is contiuing to post normal setups. Personally...

So keep your "no one is allowed to post here" comments to yourself please.
