hey i was in the market for some new set of speakers but i decided not to get the traditional pc speakers and opted for home theater speakers, so i need help finding a nice set.

My budget is around $200, give or take some. I was personally looking at the Polk audio monitor 30 (newegg) with any good cheap receiver (newegg) or a nice one off ebay. However, when glancing over at subwoofers i saw the polk audio subwoofer (this) that have line in RCA jacks, so my question to this would be... can't i buy this subwoofer with the two bookshelf and just plug in the rca from my tv(which has rca output and is hooked up to my computer)?

Also, i like to hear any ideas or links you guys have to what you think i should buy.

THANKS A BUNCH!!!

I have seen the M-Audio AV40s, the Behringer MS40s, and the Swan M200MKII and M200MKIII recommended around here. I've personally heard the AV40s, and preferred my headphones. Too much emphasis on the mids/bass for my tastes.

I'm looking for a replacement for my Klipsch Ultras, so I am interested in the recommendations you receive.

You can add Swan 1080's to that list, and Samson StudioDock 3i, and Audioengine's A5 (or A2 if you're looking for something particularly small). Honestly there's a ton of choices out there, Yamaha and Rokit have some nice models too. I'm pretty happy with my SD3i for $120.

you can't connect the sub to the PC as you asked, those inputs are designed to be line level for the sub, in the event that your receiver/source didn't have an LFE output

the sub itself is not a speaker amplifier

as far as suggestions for stuff to buy, theres a number of great options presented in this thread, the Swan 1080's seem to be popular this month, and the Behringers seem to be losing their FoTM status quickly (maybe because of you know, the awesome reliability associated with that brand)

if you've got a PA type shop nearby, go check 'em out, they should have a few pairs of active monitors within your budget available
