They're up on Guru3D. A few people on EVGA's forums were saying they provide a big gaming performance boost, but worse benchmarking scores. I haven't tried them yet, but has anybody else?

I'm gonna load them up on my 8800GTS g92. Will run a few fraps while I play through a level on Crysis. Let you know how it goes.

Any clue if they're intended for any particular cards or for all Geforce and GTX series?

Wow... World In Conflict 1920x1200, 2xAA, 16xAF. DX10 shadows from clouds and water reflects clouds.
Min- 22
Max- 70
Avg- 40
qx9650 and BFG GTX 280 OC both @ stock. (615mhz for the card)

Edit: *sigh* Didn't read carefully enough. Sorry

Edit 2: Installed, tested.

Vantage score taken earlier today on driver 177.41 scored P14272.

Just installed 177.66 and ran Vantage again.

The 177.66 drivers run smooth, and moved my score up 154 points... ;)

On to game testing! ;)

just a noob question:

In the device manager, when i go to the driver section of my 8800GT it only says the number 7.15.11.7519, and that doesnt seem to match up to the current numbering scheme of Nvidias drivers, so how do i know which one Im using now?

And when I go to NVidia's site to get new drivers, it only has 175.19 as the newest for my card, but if i tell it that i have a GTX200 series, it gives me the 177.66 drivers. And the Guru3D link posted above shows the 177.66 drivers as compatible with my card..... UGH, so confusing, wtf. Someone please help.

sometimes drivers released (not leaked) by Nvidia will only support 9series/2xx series....but it doesnt matter...just grab an INF file and mod it....;)

154 vantage points does not mean drivers. that difference can happen without changing anything. could just be a better run by your hardware. i'm sure when you test your games, you will see if they really did anything.

Go to Nvidia Control Panel, then on the lower left of the CP, you'll see 'System Information'. Click that, and driver version should be right there. Hope I helped.

With a few tests, I found no performance difference with these drivers compared with the last beta for GTX280
I'm running an 8800GT, XP 32 btw.

Games tested are Grid and Crysis.
3DMark05 is the same also.

or....you could tell him that the last 5 numbers will be the driver version but either will get you that information.

The last 5 digits tell you the version number through the Device Manager.

7.15.11.7519 = v175.19

Edit: The 177.66 driver is currently compatible with your card since it's an OEM driver release. That's why you don't see it on Nvidia's site.

I'm using the 177.66 for my 8800GTS 512 SLI setup. I'm also running the PhysX 8.06.12 software and I am capable of PhysX on my 8 series now.

I do agree the smoothness with these drivers and 3dmark vantage was just amazing, I haven't tried many games yet but yea that made a big difference.

here is a shot of vantage.

RivaTuner 2.09 has some compatibility problems with this driver too (177.xx series), the temperature readings reported by the ADT are going crazy and the fan will be around 50%.

The performance it's good in recent games for me, but the image quality in DVD/movie playback could be better.

NV seems to be taking their time with new driver releases..Lets hope they get it together and see if they can really make the GT200 sing..

this driver set is super stable in STALKER, which was not possible with any of the previous drivers i've tried out in the past since 169.XX drivers.

rivatuner is definitely showing incompatibility issues. no matter how i set the fans using rivatuner, eventually it drops to 500-600 rpm range.

I tried these out about 4 days ago; I found running the latest nvidia demo with the medusa that it was very choppy compared to the official betas (.44); so I went back. If y ou run that demo, you can really see the difference, it's much more choppy/lower fps than the official betas. I'm sticking with official drivers or official betas from now on, I don't like testing out new beta sets unless there are no complaints whatsoever, and in those cases it goes to nvidias site pretty fast.

It's just not worth my time/trouble.

This driver fixed the Movie Color and black-level issue that so many people were having. It's worth comparing.
