150gb Velociraptor or 2TB WD Black?

Pretty simple, I have been using an og 150gb WD Velociraptor (https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E1...eq69204JKw5VtNWJ_SxoCkSEQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) for my game drive since forever. Love it too death, but the age is starting to concern me. It also is not quiet. At all.

The question is, for $120, am I going to lose anything noticeable (besides the raptor racket) going to a 2TB WD Black?

The extra storage is just a bonus, so also considering the 1tb version.

You should use that $120 to buy an SSD. That much for a 2TB hard drive in 2017 is just laughable too.

Same Price or more at Newegg, microcenter, Fry's and B&H. Also, Amazon doesn't carry it.

Besides, ignore cost. Assume free. Focus on performance.

The first 20-30% of the drive will have access times similar to the 150 raptor and at least double the throughput. I'd get a SSD though especially if you only need a small amount of space.

The WD Black is good. Most reliable HDD I've ever had. It's just a tad slower in latency than the 150GB VelociRaptor, but it's up to twice as fast in transfer speed in the first third of the drive.

Why? Looks like the median price for a 2TB 7200 RPM HDD with 128MB of cache is right around $120. I mean, if you don't care about your data or the speed at which it's accessed then you could spend half the price if you really wanted to pinch pennies.

You could always get a 2tb Firecuda for like $90. You will like the speed increase and still have plenty of room.
