What you guys think of my build? I have always in mind the new pc i will build to last me 4-5 years. I want it to run everything. I know the gtx 570 will be bottleneck in some games at max details (crysis 3) . I will upgrade vga next year.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Mainly use for Gaming , some browsing and very little Photoshop work.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

Then you're planning way too early then. Our parts recommendations can be outdated within a month due to parts becoming overpriced, out of stock, outperformed, or out of date. As such, planning a build 5 months in advance is not a good idea at all as you will end up with quite a bad selection of parts in the end.

So please come back when you're 1-3 weeks away from actually buying the parts and ask for advice then. That way you'll get the most up-to-date advice on the most up-to-date parts.

With that said, there's quite a a lot of things wrong with that list even if you were planning on buying today:
- Current Intel platforms do not benefit whatsoever from higher speed RAM. You won't notice a difference between DDR3 1333 and DDR3 2400 RAM. As such, that DDR3 2133 RAM is worthless.
- If you're actually planning on overclocking, you're going to want a better HSF
- That PSU is total crap. There are far far better PSUs for the money out there.
- That case is generally overpriced for what it is.
 
You are right. I did a mistake by saying at the end of the year. I plan to buy one soon. So i just started my research, I will update the answer to that.

Regarding memory. You suggest to get a cheaper ram with less hz? Even if i plan to overclock? Please suggest modules

Also can you suggest a good solid power supply for my build ?

About the HSF, I dont want to overlap the ram modules. There are so many choices for HSF. Suggest me a good one but not as big as the Noctua HS D14 or the silver arrow.

Thats exactly what I am suggesting. Note that when it comes to overclocking current Intel CPUs, the RAM isn't touched at all. As such, you can the CPU to 4.5Ghz with DDR3 1333 RAM just fine. I recommend this Kingston RAM:

Yeah, sorry but those are exactly the kind of HSF I will be recommending. Unfortunately, that site doesn't have the Corsair H80i. Considering how hot the 4700K can get when overclocked, those big air-cooling HSF are pretty much your best bet for good cooling. As such, I am going to recommend that Noctua:

If the overlock is the case here for suggesting me Noctua NH DS14, overclock will be a first for me. I might not even do any. What other option we have with ram modules if i dont overclock? I really dont want the HSF to overlap the ram. I want my build to be very stable and last in time.

16GB RAM is a bit overkill for gaming. But RAM has gone up so might as well get 16 before it goes up in price even further. That 8GB RAM is overpriced though. It should be half the price of the RAM I linked. Speaking of which, I would still recommend the same RAM even if you were not overclocking.

As for the HSF overlapping the RAM, even the Coolermaster hyper 212 overlaps the RAM a bit. See if the Corsair H80i Or Antec Kuhler 920 is available in your country.

As for the motherboard, if you are overclocking, then that ASUS is good. But if you are not overclocking, then that mobo is way overpriced and overkill. So yeah, you Have to overclock to justify that motherboard. Otherwise you would be fine with a mobo thats half the price of that ASUS Maximus.

Everything else I said earlier still stands. If you want 8GB of RAM, it should be half the cost of the 16GB of RAM I linked earlier in order for it to be a good buy. Otherwise, just go for 16GB of RAM. Whether or not you're overclocking makes a big difference as to what parts you need to get (specifically the motherboard and CPU HSF)
 
The HSF you suggested by corsair is watercool right? Iam not sure if i want the water cool way.(afraid of it :rolleyes:) . I prefer cpu cooling with air.

Just to clear some stuff. With the noctua HSF the problem i will have is that when i want to remove the ram for any reason, i will have to remove the HSF first right? Since iam noob that wont do for me. :(

I search a bit about the CM hyper 212 evo and it doesn't interfere with the ram you told me to get (low profile) - Is the air cooling of this HSF so bad that if i want to overclock in the future it will fail badly? (iam not talking about extreme overclocking) . From 3.5 to 4.2 lets say.

And about the motherboard. Now you have some idea what iam after. Which asus z87 would you sugget for me?

I know i ask a lot of thinks but iam really confused now hehe. I want to build it right.

It is a liquid all-in-one cooling heatink. It basically would free you of any worry about RAM clearance.

I didn't say the Coolermaster will interfere with the RAM per se. Just that you'll still see an overlap. The fan on the Coolermaster will actually "overlap" the RAM. I know this first-hand as I do have the Hyper 212+ installed right now in my system. The fan itself actually just barely touches the top of the RAM heatsinks on my G.Skill RAM. I have to remove the fan if I want access to that first RAM slot. Here's an old picture of my PC to illustrate what I mean:

It won't fail badly but it'll run pretty hot. Again, the Haswells do run a bit hotter than previous Intel CPUs. So even a mild of OC of 4.2Ghz is bit much for that cheap Hyper 212+. With that said, if you have air conditioning in your home. you will clean the PC often, the small RAM overlap, you're going to stay at 4.2Ghz, and you don't mind the higher temperatures, then the Hyper 212 Evo will work out

Well, I still need to know whether or not you plan to overclock. I'm going to be recommending different motherboards depending on your answer to that question.
 
As i see from the photo it overlap the first slot only? If i go with evo 212 and the ram you suggested i wouldnt have overlapping problem because i could use the other 2 slot for the modules. Right?

But at the end i will try to find that corsair liquid cooler. :p . They made them safer from leaks? Need maintenance?

About the motherboard, I also bought 5 years ago the x48 rambage for 340 euros :) and had in mind to over clock. I never did,and i never will. I like to spend money as a noob iam :D

So the answer is NO probably. I will not overclock.

Yes and no. That's a similar situation with the Nocua NH-D14 as well. With some motherboards, you have to install RAM in the corresponding colored slots in order to get full performance or full functionality. AS you can clearly see in the picture I posted, I put the RAM in the white slots rather than putting two sticks of RAM in the last two RAM slots on the right in order to get full performance and functionality.

What Danny Bui recommended to you is fine.

But if you want to overclock in the future, you can't do that with the non-K i7-4770 or the Asus H87M Pro. You'll need to buy the i7-4770K and a Z87-based motherboard.

i drop from 16gb ram to 8. its 70 euro difference. and iam not gonna need more than 8GB

I also liked a lot the case Corsair 500R white. Its the same price as Antec you suggested.

If gaming is your primary task, then you'll be fine with the i5-4670K instead of the i7-4770K. Photoshop doesn't really benefit from Hyper Threading, which is the only significant difference between the i7-4770K (has it) and the i5-4670K (doesn't have it).

That said, Photoshop does benefit from RAM. If you're serious about your Photoshop work, I recommend that you stick with 16GB of RAM.

You need to decide now whether or not you need to overclock. If you want to overclock, you should grab the Corsair H80i now rather than wait for a later opportunity to do so. But if you don't believe that you'll ever try overclocking, then you should swap out the processor and motherboard for the i5-4570 (a cheaper yet still effective processor) and the Asus H87M Pro that Danny Bui recommended earlier.

Do you already have the X-Fi Titanium sound card? If not, hold off on buying it just yet. Try the onboard sound out first and see whether or not it's to your liking.

The only part now that makes my head hurt is the cpu cooling. :confused:
I cant decide between corsair h80i, h100i and the noctua HS NS14. ( i live in a very...very hot place) outside now is 80% humility and 35 Celsius.

Corsai 500r case can handle them all. I read somewhere i can even remove and add the ram modules below the Noctua DS14...anyone can clarify this? I will use the KINGSTON 16GB DDR3 1600MHZ HYPERX(2x8) series. I saw from photos they are low profile.
 
Which specific model of the Kingston HyperX RAM are you going with? Some sets run at 1.65V, which you shouldn't use (they may cause damage to your motherboard).

Why did you switch your motherboard? Is the Z87 Pro out of stock?

If you're that concerned about cooling, and you can afford to get it, go with the Corsair H100i

I switch to Hero because its the same price as z87 pro. And i really like the its color black/red.

And as i read they are the same motherboard except that the Hero has beter VRN and overclock features. That i might never use hehe :)
 
Regarding the cpu cooling again. I can find the h100i at the same price with h80i. Shall i pick that one?

And since is top mounting radiator, (in my case Corsair 500R) can anyone confirm that its height wont overlap the motherboard below it?

The RAM's good. You should have no problems with it.

But how serious are you about overclocking? You seem to jump from "I want to overclock" to "I'll never do it" every other post. (OK, you aren't literally changing your mind so often... but I don't think you really want to overclock at all.)
 
Its truth what you saying. And for 1 week now iam troubling my head and seeking help for that matter. My head will explode soon :p

The drawback in overclocking are the hight temps out of the computer. As i said earlier in Cyprus we have 35-40 Celcius. You have to consider this right? Also the haswell gets lot hotter from what i read. Thas why i want to make sure that the cpu cooler will provide me a stable system and not have tembs issus.

My other problem is the size of Noctua DS14...That think is huge in the case. If i can mess with the ram without removing the cooler its ok. If not i will consider watercooling.

Now, watercooling is different game to me. And i just started to research about em (problems,maintenace...etc). I think corsair r500 can handle h80i and h100i just fine. Iam worried thought about the height of h100i not touching the motherboard. Also many complaining about the fan noise of h80i. (and dont forget maintance, water leaking...etc.Iam horrified just thinking of this)

Iam really desperate here. :confused:

Now i could easily choose the NO overclock way and all my problems will be gone....but the nerd inside me will cry by the limits i will have in my new pc...not able to overclock..etc.Since is so darn easy with those asus motherboards.

Yes we do consider the ambient temperatures of locations in general to determine what HSF should be recommended.

Looking at pictures of the Noctua NH-D14 with both fans and installed into a Corsair 500R case (just google "Corsair 500R Noctua NH-D14"), you will have to remove the front HSF fan in order to get access to the last three RAM slots. You would need extremely low profile RAM (which none of the Kingston RAM listed here has been) in order to use that first RAM slot. So yes you will have mess with the cooler in order to swap out the RAM

You can always just replace the fan in the H80i to quieter fans. The Corsair 500R will fit the H100i however.
 
If you only remove the fan above the ram its still ok. Is it easy to do?

And if i go watercool. H80i or h100i for me? I will not do extreme overclocking... Never
