Yes and no: The HD 7950 3GB will be faster but Sapphire isn't as good of a company as eVGA when it comes to customer support and warranty. Not to mention that Nvidia's drivers are slightly better than AMD at times.

I agree, EVGA is much better than Sapphire. Customer service and products period. As for the GFX you should check this out:

I am in a similar situation as you and this card was recommended to me. Its faster than the one you mentioned and at this time is the same price after discounts.

I ended up going with the Corsair 300r Case and HX650 PSU. Ended up getting a Gigabyte 7870 GPU as well. I have everything built and running but when i fire up a game i keep hearing a fluddering beeping sound from what sounds like the PSU. Is this common? Did I get a bad one? It only happens when under load.

Yeah good choice, Only thing i would change is the ram could have saved $30 and bout 2x4gb ddr3 1600.
