Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
So, when i'm running just about any game of mine i get 100% cpu usage on my overclocked e8400 at 4.0ghz. What could be the problem with this? Do i need to upgrade my vid card or cpu? or can it just be something else invovled? even a virus or such
but sure, lets have some hysteria:
yes you have the most ultimate and worst of all kinds of viruses, the only way to solve it is to burn your entire computer (and the house its in, as the virus can store itself in the power lines) to the ground
Games are simple processes that like to take %100 of the CPU, because they can get away with it. They will take as many cycles as you can throw at them, but there is no guarantee they will do anything useful with those cycles (beyond a certain point).
That %100 constant load? That's just the game engine main loop.
Unless you're having actual performance issues or you really like to multi-task, don't owrry too much about a video game taking 100% CPU load. That's usually a good sign: Your CPU is actually being used.
But knowing which games you're playing would help.
