for gaming does it really matter about the mouse?

a $10 800dpi vs a $30 logitech mx500.
i mean they're both 800dpi, so what makes the logitech so different?

The logitech mice normally have their sensitivity turned up higher, though the precision may be no greater in this case. Also, I bet you the MX500 has more extra buttons than the $10 mouse. I know I won't buy a mouse without a scroll wheel, forward, and back button on it...

I would say there is a very good chance that the Logitech mouse is also of a much higher quality. I have never been disappointed by any of the Logitech mouse products over the years. I find it to be worth the extra money a Logitech costs. I've probably been using my Logitech trackball for seven or eight years now.
