Does overclocking ram significantly raise VRM temps?

Say I pair a b650m HDV/m.2 motherboard with ddr5 Hynix a-die. Two generations from now if I upgrade the CPU would it be safe to overclock the RAM to 8000mhz? Should this even be a concern?

A dud 8700k? (overclocking, that is)

I wasn't sure if I should drop this here, or in the overclocking subforum... oh well, here is as good a place as any. Anyway.... Did anyone else get an 8700k and wind up with an overclocking turd? Here I see everyone else getting 5ghz with moderate voltages (1.3 to 1.35v, sometimes lower!)...

I hadn't noticed it before (due to no problems being found) but my VRM is getting rather hot, I didn't notice it until I watched a YouTuber talk about X299 VRM getting too hot due to inadequate cooling near the VRM. I checked the temps under load with the old "stick your finger on it" method...
