I had to send mine in and it took under two weeks (got it back wednesday.) When I saw the notice that it would take up to four weeks I panicked, but it's not nearly that bad.
Sometimes when I boot, the xp splash screen (with the little crawling progress bar) fails to show up. When this happens it seems to take a bit longer to load. Maybe let it stew for a few minutes?
I bought one of those "special editions" of Serious Sam. $10 for about half of the original game. After I realized what I got I felt duped somehow. Bad business IMO.
IMO, funerals are not necessarily for the deceased, they are a part of the coping process for the living left behind. Suppose a funeral (or a wedding for that matter) were held in a public park. It's Public and therefore open ground for both the event attendees and any passersby. Now, can anyone...
There was an issue with newegg sending out refurb boards. It's possible you got one of those. If that's the case I would recommend RMA through evga as they are aware of the problem and will ensure you get a brand new board. There is a post somewhere in the 30 pages of this thread where I read...
Yes I would, because they can't kill us in guildchat ;) . But I would nonetheless find it in bad taste if, as in this case, the raiding party knew ahead of time what was going on. That's the problem I have with this whole thing - sympathy got thrown to the side in favor of in-game bragging rights
The thing is, MMO's often become a part of a person's life. I'm a member of an EQ2 guild, and our guild leader was hit by hurricane Katrina. A lot of us were very concerned and were checking up on any news about his hometown we could find (including the obituaries.) What kind of surprised me was...
I followed links this afternoon and read several threads on several different forums, and was shocked by what I saw. Comments like "she got what she deserved," "even in death she sucks at WOW," and "thanks to (deceased) for 20 easy honor points." Many will argue that this is just a game and that...
This year Taxcut is offering an online version that filed my federal return for free. State filing is available for 25 dollars - less than the boxed version.I used the boxed version last year and they are basically the same, just cheaper :)
I tried Napster - thier member-only forums are filled with complaints. The "compatible" players (mostly from Creative and Iriver) stop working within a few days. Had the problem with 2 different Creative players - After a few days it would no longer be recognised by the Napster browser and had...
The password is required on the registered version to access the update server, and if I remember correctly, to install as well. I used the trial for a few days after it expired and all I got was a warning that it could no longer update - never a password dialogue box. Maybe try uninstalling and...
I've got this board and Myguard installed as well. I noticed on the above pic that the system temp is being reported as higher than the cpu (mine is the same.) I suspect the program has the 2 values reversed. Anyone know for sure if that might be the case? Thanks :)
Sorry if I'm fanning flames here, but since Norton's credibility is being debated I thought I'd share a recent experience. An internet friend recommended Systemworks 2006 to my wife, so she bought it as a christmas present. The install process was one of the longest I can remember (close to...
Here's some food for thought. I've bought many PC games that got put on a shelf and waited there until I could afford to upgrade my machine. At least when you go looking for a console game, you know it will play the same as it will on anyone's console.
If the albatron has Samsung memory, then it should work as well as the more expensive brands. Most comparison reviews are aimed at the "hardcore" users who will pay extra for the name. I've got the chaintech 6600gt and haven't had any problems. From the 2 choices listed, go with the Albatron, If...
I'm not a fan of fatality or Abit, but this is not the first thread I've seen about these boards and I can't see the point. If you're looking for an Abit board and you like the layout/features, why would this schmuck's name on the box make any difference?
Unless it could somehow make use of both processors simultaneously, it seems like a waste to me. Scared? That thing's probably going the way of the dodo.
The exact same thing happened to me when I got my first PC. At the time there was this new must-have game called DOOM that was incredible. The first night I played, I was running around in a first-person shoot'em-up dream. Hasn't happened to me since, but ... wow.
A mistake I've made is not making sure the first heatsink clip was on securely. When I tried to clip on the second one, the heatsink scraped over the processor core and killed it. :(
For $50 I think you'll see quite a bit of improvement. Besides, at that price, if you weren't happy, I'd bet you could make your money back reselling it. Would this friend be willing to let you try it before giving him the money? That would be the safest bet.
I used to have a 9500 pro that would crash with new drivers. I had to use older ones to get it to run. My guess is that it is your videocard because of the vpu recover screen. Maybe try older drivers. Good luck.
EDIT: sorry, Ishould have read better. What about the drivers that came with the...
I just poked around on the c&c support site and saw a few posts about compatibility with winxp. You might want to try running in comaptibility mode. Another problem seemed to involve background apps. Try shutting down as much as you can. One last thing - update to the latest directx. Hope this...
Walmart sells a 27" RCA with component inputs and a great picture for $200. I bought one about a year ago and love it. LCD tv's are nice but IMO are too expensive at the moment.

All the posts above are for 2.5" drives - did a little poking around and found this - $10 shipped. I was looking to do something similar with a spare hard drive, and this is about as cheap as it gets.
Prime95 and memtest here. As for games as a test, Dungeon seige will cripple my machine faster than anything (even prime95!) and it's only $10 at wal-mart. (end shameless plug)
I had sbc and after the contract opted to go with cable. The missus and I have cell phones so the dsl plus the otherwise useless phone service cost us about $70 a month. Cable internet is only $30, so the choice was a no-brainer. The real fun started when we called to cancel the account. Within...
