ok i know the 3000+ is faster right off the go. but my question is would the unlocked 2500 be able to perform better than the locked 3000. the 3000 has a fsb of 400 and the 2500 has 333. which one would make a better overclocker with pc3200 ram running at 240.

AXP 3000+ Vs AXP 2500+

the 2500+ would theoriticaally be cheaper, and more flexable (different fsb/multi's), but it all really depends on each individual chip, and how much each is able to be pushed. the 2500+ can have multis from like what? 6-12.5? and the 3000+ is stuck at 10.5. Id say go w/the 2500+ and have some fun.
im hittin 2525 at 240x10.5 right now i was just thinking if i could go higher with the 2500 i have in my other rig. i had the 2500 in my other rig up to like 230 but that was with like an 8 or 9 multi so it probably wasnt that efficient. if i could hit the same speed with the 2500 that i got with my 3000 that would be cool.
