Wow, haven't posted her for a long time....
Long story. My local computer store had me to purchase the 64 bit version because they didn't have the 32 bit. I am kind of upset since they won't refund me the money even though they had me to buy the 64bit version. It turns out the Dell system I...

Will try Ektar 100...:) However, at ISO100, that's pretty much a good, sunny day film. I find the Kodak Ultramax 400 has very fine grain as well. Surprisingly less grainy than the cheaper Fuji Superia 400.
Yeah, almost forgot about shooting slides, since I don't need to have my film printed. I can scan them and printed off the digital files. Unfortunately, I haven't found a lab that does slides other than my local place, which is about 2 blocks away. However, I didn't like the way they printed...
However, don't be surprised if they were shot with film.....:) I am planning to get a good film scanner soon in order to scan my own negatives. Most likely I will run them through photoshop also. I found that most labs aren't worth a dime when comes to scanning your negatives. Their prints...
Hehehehe.....no, those are taken with my 1dmarkIII and 24-70L. They are digital. I added a bit of glow effect from photoshop since the snow and the brightly white color do have that kind of effect.
Trying to get into film......got my test roll back from the RTS. Looks like I have to scan the negatives myself and to print them out from the digital files.
Some Winter shots at the park.
Thought I headed to the New York Aquarium to test out 2 of my recalibrated lenses. 24-70L and Sigma 50. Also, try to nail down some jelly fish shot using a manual focus only Carl Zeiss 35-70 f3.4. The jelly fish room is always too dark even for the AF to work.
24-70L
Sigma 50...
Did you need to MA the Sigma??? Somehow, I don't believe Sigma has ironed out their AF issue. Recently, I have my Sigma 50 calibrated by Sigma. I drove there and waited about an hour or so. It was nice. It turned out the typical waiting period is about 2 weeks if I did mail it in....
There is the general misconception about longer lens taking shots of far distance subjects. Mostly, longer lens is used to capture smaller subjects at the same distance. The longer focal length can enlarge the subject, such as birds and other smaller wild animals which you can't get close to...
Haven't posted here for a while. Couple of random shots:
My newly acquired Canon 24-70L and it has been calibrated by Canon. Focus is dead on.

Checkout this deal... Given that you budget is low, I would stay with Canon. Canon XT, XTI can be had for under $300. Now, this Canon 30D is much better and considered a pro-consumer body about 5 years ago.

About 70% of the image quality is determined by what lens you use. Brands may not mean much if you are shooting with a kit lens. Until you are into the pro-consumer level body, pretty much "which brands" does not matter. Both Canon and Nikon have very good pro-consumer to pro bodies. But...
I really want to get rid of this frame. I don't have money to build another road bike. I don't do time trial anymore and I am already riding a Cannondale Caad8. Take the frame and all the other parts for $350 + shipping. I do hope I can sell this locally. Here is the picture of the frame...

Well, I see you got your XSi..:) Your ISO is too low at 100. Is this shot on a tripod? If not, up the shutter speed to 1/100s using a higher ISO and larger aperture (lower number like F4). Your white balance is too warm. Try to select tungsten lighting.
You were like me 3 years ago. :) Had an Olympus 3mp camera back in the days. Fast forward to 2007, I bought a Canon Powershot with 10mp. I was looking at iso400 grainy land. I would have thought that the technology in point + shoot has gone better. Then, I jumped on a XTi. 3 years later...
You only use a polarized filter to reduce reflection from windows, glass, water, and any reflective surface. It can be bad too because you essentially make your subject to look flat. For that to work, the filter, you, have to be perpendicular to the direction of the sun. With a polarized...
