I'm using a fresh install of XP SP2 as well. In fact its straight from the Dell Recovery CD that I burned. I have no idea why I'm experiencing this problem and no one else is.

It won't install. It says it will only install computers with no service packs installed.

I bought a new wifi card and that seemed to solve all the issues. I can now reliably resume from hibernation without fear of a blue screen. Its not perfect however as every other month or so it will fail to wake from hibernation and will simply reboot but I'm not blaming that on the wifi card...

tiebird, I only went wireless very recently so I don't know if the problem existed pre-SP2 or not.

Update: I have noticed that the wakeup failure usually occurs after the laptop goes into a self induced low battery hibernation. I have mine set to go into hibernation when it reaches 1% battery power and I have two batteries.

No luck with the BSOD issue. I have installed and used the new updated drivers for my card and I still get the BSOD on wakeup from hibernation. I am going to try removing the card before waking my laptop and see how that goes. Other than that any other suggestions? Thanks

Enable write cacheing on that drive via the Device Manager and that should clear the problem up.

I just installed a Toshiba MK6026GAX 5400RPM 16MB cache drive into my laptop. Very speedy but only a 1 year warranty. But if you buy from NewEgg you can get an extended warranty for just $10 more.
