Picked this set up today at Best Buy to mount on my Obutto Revolution. My Revolution has a 200x200 Vesa Plate on it so I thought the 39" LN5300 would work fine.......NOPE. Despite what LG says, thereare NO 200x200 Vesa holes on this panel, only 400x400.
What gives?
Anybody else with this...
The problem is I have a P6T Deluxe (not the V2) and I don';t think I have any of the newer gneration SATA slots. So, the SSD I got would have to be one of the earlier gneratiuon models.
With regards to stickiugn with the 920, many people here may have not read that Iplay mostly simulators. I...
Perhaps, waiting to see what Haswel brings to the table will be the best decision. The games I play are so CPU reliant its crazy so I really need great performance. A few hundred dollars isn't really a concern if the performance and oc'ability is better with the 3930K.
Thanks for the help, all!
I currently have an i7 920 @ 4.0 ghz but performance wise it is getting a little long ion the tooth and I'm thinking of an upgrade.
About 99% of my home PC time is spent gaming, more specifically, playing simulators (XPlane 10, FSX, P3D, SHV, iRacing, etc..). Because of this, the processor...
I used to be a diehard IPS fan and also used to think the difference between 60hz and 120hz was hardly noticable......until I got my 144hz monitor and used it for a few weeks. Now my IPS is collecting dust.
120+ Hz panels being only for FPS is BS. There is a noticable difference in smoothness...
I don't think the new Version has officially been released yet.
*EDIT* Just saw your edit. Yeah, I don't know why they can't just put the revision in the title. Why make it more difficult for people to spend money? LOL
So, I'm using Cr4zy's profile (Set as default), but when I start a game (Mechwarrior Online), the screen looks like it jumps back to pre-New ICC profile mode.
It's wierd. The desktop colors are great, but when I start up the game the profile seemingly disappears and back comes the bright and...
I had to get rid pf the Lightboost hack on my VG248QE.
Looked real good in games, however, the main game I play (Mechwarrior Online) seemed to have an issue where whenever I started a game I would get horrible FPS drop (even after tapping Ctrl-T) and it would take about 1 min to load into...
Hello All,
Got a VG248QE today and have been trying to do the Lightboost hack but I'm not sure of it is working.
I followed all of the ionstructions on the "How-To" page, except for two:
My "Adjust resolution" page does not have an "Enable Stereoscopic 3D settings for all displays"...
Yeah, and for the most part they've been just that...crap. 30" not included.
Besides, the OP wants a 24" with a semi-glossy panel. All of the Dell 16:10 offerings have heavy AG. The others have their own issues. Maybe a PLS panel will fit the bill. It really depends on what the OP is using...
Awesome. It says ships in 1-2 weeks though (patience is not one of my virtues, lol). Does anybody know if it actually takes that long or is Dell pretty quick with shipping?
My 30" came very fast, but was listed as shipping within 24 hours.
Apparenlty the u2913 has a "Game Mode" that drops it down to about 15-17m/s.
I've actually asked about 3-4 people on Youtube and none of them have said they are expereincing any ghosting or noticable input lag. The AG coating is listed as "Light" in TFT Centrals review.
There's a thread on page 3 regarding this panel:
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1728908
It got a solid review from TFT Central here:

I am looking at this one as well. I set my 30" panel up to do 2560x1080 to get an "idea" of...
I hope the BLB is better than on the VG278HE I had. It was fine except for the bottom, and it was so bad there you could see it in pretty much any situation and any angle.
What I find interesting is in that first review, they mentioned the VG27HE has better viewing angles than the VG248QE...
Whether most people would even notice that is debatable. I know of a few people with the S2740L who don't notice any issues during gaming whatsoever.
OP, I do believe you can get an S2740L from Amazon and if you don't like it than you can return it no questions asked. Maybe worth a shot?
I suppose you could. I never have. When I return something its because I generally don't can't live with something about ti (like excessive backlight bleed).
I can push more than 60 FPS on my system in the games I play (MWO, MOHW, etc..).
Any smoothness, IMO, is negated by the poor viewing angles and inaccurate colors. Not saying it wasn't smooth, I just didn't notice it enough to warrant the pricetag and the colors and viewing angles aren't...
I had a VG278HE (the 144hz model) and while it did look smooth....I really couldn't tell the difference between that and my IPS locked at 60hz.
Certainly not enough of a difference to warrant the lesser picture of the TN.
My .02.
