By default, VSYNC is turned OFF within the DOOM3's game setting. You have to go in there and set it to ON. When it's set to OFF, it overrides you driver settings. I don't understand why id Software would want this to default to OFF. Seems bizarre to me why it would be like that. I also noticed...

PNY Geforce 6800 GT install with NO problems. Runs smooth as a baby's arse. Overclocks to 400/1.1 with ease. Haven't pushed it more since my CPU (AXP 3200) is the bottleneck. Probably the best Nvidia video card I have ever bought. THANK YOU COMPUSA!! :) :)

As for the pauses and slowdowns, it looks like the game is loading off the hard drive in the first run of the timedemo. Subsequent runs will already have it stored in memory so it doesn't have to load off the hard drive. I find it strange they didn't just load it all in memory to begin with...

What drivers are you using? I have heard some people say their drivers caused similar problems and when they upgraded the drivers it went away. Try the new 61.77 drivers from Nvidia.
