I had this same problem until I installed the Athlon 64 Windows XP driver at http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9706,00.html
Once you install that, it will no longer default back to 5x multiplier. You can then jack with the voltage settings and other...
BUMP.
More info: It's the retail package. It's 256 bit memory interface to the 128 Megs.
Here is what the memory chip reads:
HYNIX KOR
HY5DU283222A
F-28 416A
So I am guessing it's 2.8 ns memory.
I have a barely used Built By ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Meg AGP card. It has all original connectors, box, manuals, and CDs. I bought an ATI AIW Radeon 9800 Pro instead because I want to watch TV on the computer as well, so I am selling the non AIW version.
I would like to sell it for $160...
I have a BBA Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Megs which has all the original manuals, cables, and box which I would be willing ot sell for $185 shipped. Let me know. I used it for about 2 months, but I upgraded to a BBA AIW 9800 Pro instead, so I don't need the non AIW 9800 Pro.
I don't have a dual monitor setup, but I have heard many people talk about major slowdown with playing games when they have dual monitors setup. Turning off the dual monitor instantly made everything fast. Give it a shot.
I have a 6800 GT and I don't see the slowdown in the place you...
It's just the first time I have ever seen them on shelves. All the CompUSA's, Best Buys, Circuit Cities, and Fry's have never had them when I checked. This is the first time I have seen them in a B&M store.
I just went to my local Fry's in Plano, TX and I saw they had 10-15 X800pro cards sitting way up high on the shelf by the video card section. Why they are not displayed on the lower selves I don't know, but they have a bunch there if anyone is interested. I thought about getting one, but I am...
I am not familar with that overclocking program, but I had the down clocking happen to my system too, a 2500+ I tried to overclock to 3200+. Everytime I'd change the multiplier, it would reboot, then immediately shut off. After I turned it on, it would be at 1050. What had happed was the...
By default, VSYNC is turned OFF within the DOOM3's game setting. You have to go in there and set it to ON. When it's set to OFF, it overrides you driver settings. I don't understand why id Software would want this to default to OFF. Seems bizarre to me why it would be like that. I also noticed...
Where did you get it? I have been waiting for the HDTV wonder for a while. I bought a 9800pro to mate with the HDTV wonder. Can't wait to start recording my HDTV shows and try to back them up somewhere.
PNY Geforce 6800 GT install with NO problems. Runs smooth as a baby's arse. Overclocks to 400/1.1 with ease. Haven't pushed it more since my CPU (AXP 3200) is the bottleneck.
Probably the best Nvidia video card I have ever bought. THANK YOU COMPUSA!! :) :)
As for the pauses and slowdowns, it looks like the game is loading off the hard drive in the first run of the timedemo. Subsequent runs will already have it stored in memory so it doesn't have to load off the hard drive. I find it strange they didn't just load it all in memory to begin with...
Almost sounds like something still isn't set up right. Either directx and/or the driver for the video card and/or your chipset. What motherboard/CPU are you using? When you say troubled installation, what exactly happened? Need more details in order to offer good suggestions.
You mentioned...
What kind of CPU is it? What kind of Heatsink are you using?
Touching near 60c still seems a bit high for me. I have an Athlon non-mobile Barton 2500+ overclocked to 3200+ at 1.75 volts with a SLK-800 and a Panaflo fan which tops the CPU temp at 53-54c and idles at 45-46c.
I just wanted...
Try it in someone else machine before you say it's the card. If it works in someone else computer just fine, then it ain't the card. It's something in your setup.
Also, was it a brand new card or was it one that was returned to Fry's by another customer? If it was returned, someone else...
Hey, I get that same pause in the butterfly landing on the rock scene. I got a PNY 6800 GT. I haven't overclocked it yet, so everything is stock. I got a score of about 10,500 in 3DMark2003 with my AXP-3200, Abit NF7-S, and 512 Megs of Corsair 2-2-2-5 memory. Does that point to a driver issue...
What drivers are you using? I have heard some people say their drivers caused similar problems and when they upgraded the drivers it went away. Try the new 61.77 drivers from Nvidia.
1) Did you check to see if you have AA or AF turned on now when you didn't have them on before? This would greatly affect your benchmarking.
2) Did you set wait for VSYNC to default to OFF and somehow upgrading to the new drivers set them to default to ON? That would greatly affect your...
How come so many of you feel that just because you have peformance issues in Far Cry that you'll have them in DOOM3?
First off, Far Cry is a nice engine, but I won't say it's very optimized.
Second, CryTek has done a good job with their engine, but they don't have nearly the experience id...
